So I was on some Dragon Ball forums; very big set of elitists. They were trashing Viz' bluray release of Sailor Moon. Funny thing is, they were saying that Toei's remaster is better. So I popped my Bluray in to compare to the images they put in. They were almost identical... There was some brightness/saturation differences, but brightness differences is due to the ntsc standard in Japan vs here. Saturation could be any number of things, including having a messed up TV of mine.
I've noticed a disgusting number of people who trash Western releases of anime for no good reason. Yeah, a lot of anime gets terrible dubbing but there are plenty that are done very well and sometimes even much better than the Japanese original.
