I tried to find that 800k Wii Black Friday week but it is a complete different period of what Nintendo is comparing now.

Wii BF week: 7 days from Sunday to Saturday
Nintendo PR comparison: 5 days from Thursday to Monday.

So we don't know if it sold more than the Wii best BF week... we only know a Switch beat every Wii year from Thursday to Monday.

Yeah, but applying logic to it, you'd say Switch roughly matched that. Sunday- wednesday sales for Wii won't have been that high, in fact I'd say Sunday-Monday sales for Switch will be higher than those four days for Wii, because that includes a strong Cyber Monday for Switch. Its annoying we can't say for 100% certain, but this points to Switch being around 800k.

Next year is gonna look real bad for PS4 and XB1 as both wind down. Only way PS4 can be close next year is if they do a permanent price drop pretty early on. I don't think XB1 has any hope.

Switch should have a good year though.

Hows next year going to look bad? It's on the home straight now and it will still sell well. It's so long over due a price cut from $299 so there's plenty of scope to keep sales nice and high.

I don't think it's gonna look bad. No doubt it's gonna be down YoY but it's in its sixth year. If the console sold 15~ million world wide in its 6th year it's still a very solid performance. Even if it's down a lot from this year.

Also another thing that will skew perception for the PS4 is that it will without a doubt pass the 100 million mark. Doing that will show just how huge PS4 sales have been. It's the diamond milestone for consoles.

As for XB1, I think they will continue with constant price promotions. Throughout the year to help keep sales from dropping a lot.

Another thing, I think PS4 and XB1 will drop to 199$ at the holiday season. They hit that price for two years now at black Friday, so I think that could easily be their price point going forward at holiday 2019, with a 150$ price point during black Friday possibly. Which I believe could help sales stay strong a lot

Just to add, Spain last year BF week:

PS4: 100,000
Switch: 30,000
PSVR: 6,500

Similar YOY drop to the UK for PS4 over BF week then. Looks like Europe is gonna be down YOY a lot, but revenue shouldn't be down too much as price was higher on BF week this year.

I want to know how Switch did this year, but it looks like we're not gonna find that out.
