COD and MK8D flat YOY, excellent for both. Great debut for Star Wars as well. Overall its quite a big drop for the industry though.

PS4 reached 106M sell through. 14.4M for 2019 is a good total, beats the 14.3M of 2014 so its not the worst full year. Should easily end with 120M+, with XB1 less than 50M.

Attach ratio of 10.8 is great as well, onlly the second game system to sell over 1 billion software.

I really need to pull up my old predictions. I was off on everything else but I'm pretty sure I called 120 million.

It really depends on how well the PS4 continues selling after PS5 releases. It could reach 130~ Software will continue to release on PS4 as cross gen titles so we might see some life in PS4 after next gen, specially if next gen costs 499$.

PS360 died out pretty fast, but the feeling at the time was that those hardware were in dire need of upgrades, something I feel isnt the case now with PS4. Specially with the pro being in the equation

Depends on the price too. PS4 needs to hit drop in price to stay alive. I'd say 199$ and 299$ for the pro. But it seems sony wont do that, I think they would cut it to 250 and 350 respectively and want to profit more on hardware

Final week of sales of 2019 in Japan. Switch had an amazing year before December but then only managed to match 2018's December. Still an excellent year overall, 1m up YoY. PS4 had a decent year HW-wise all things considered. Very dominant year for Switch when it comes to software.

EA expected Jedi Fallen Order to sell 6-8m by end of March, and its already surpassed the high end of that by the end of December. Amazing success, I believe that's sales on par with BF2. So well deserved, and its a message loud and clear that people want these games.

PS4 software sales updated, 1.181bn games have now been sold for the system (end of 2019 sell through).

One thing that's often not talked about with PS4's success is its attach ratio. Over 10 is quite rare, not many systems have managed it. PS3 has the record (of consoles we know about) with 11.4 and PS4 is already at 11.1.

My prediction for end of 2020 is LTD of 115M hardware (9m year, down from 14.4m in 2019) and 1.4bn software (219m year, down from 257m in 2019). That might be a bit conservative with software considering the insane year we're looking at. Even so, that would be an attach ratio of 12.2, easily the new best for a console. Lifetime may end up with something like 125M HW and 1.7bn software, an attach ratio of 13.6. PS4 is going to break the attach ratio record by quite a long way.

This on top of 38m PS+ users, HW still selling at $299... what a crazy money maker PS4 has been for Sony.

I'm super happy its been successful.  Game was so good.  If they can expand on it but keep the core the same and not try and shoehorn in MP or anything, the sequel will be amazing.  plus respawn has a good track record at this point.

BananaKing

I'm gonna predict PS4 will sell 2 billion games.

That would be rather crazy considering its taken over 6 years to reach almost 1.2bil

Dr. Pezus

Ps5 will probably cut it short due to backwards compatibility
