Hmm. I think TV TV, second screen experiences, and the BOM vs. PS360 are pretty obvious signs among many that console makers were looking to avert risk and broaden out beyond the classic "dedicated" box.

I think this time they are much more convinced that the dedicated box is still a pretty big deal, hence why they are comparatively "splurging" on them hardware wise.

1.) It's funny how people were interpreting the mirrorless camera to be for the PS5.  Even journalists...

2.) This rumor boosts confidence in Sony by addressing a couple concerns people had.  Reaffirming PSVR (after silly people were concerned about the studio closing), also addresses the cooling system being unusually costly while people seem to be criticizing how loud the PS4 fans more than ever.

3.) It's kind of weird to me how confident the companies seem to be in consoles.  It didn't make any sense to me that there was uncertainty around the PS4 existing.  PCs still dont offer the same benefits as consoles and streaming was a ways off.
It feels weird to me that we've gotten closer to streaming possible taking over, and yet confidence in new consoles has apparently gone way up.

4.) Zhuge's suggestion at the bom gives a wide range that seems to suggest Series X will be better.  A lot of people have been talking about the Series X being 12 TF vs 9-10.7 TF for PS5.
