I mean obviously games are works of art but they shouldn't be "elevated" as a way to legitimise them. There's a weird modern trend in thinking the industry should be matter of fact like the evening news. That wouldn't be fun at all.
It's essentially throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Great changes in the industry have occured to make it less "childish" such as no more t-bagging at awards shows, but we shouldn't forget that we're in an entertainment industry selling toys.
