Demon's Souls is a launch title and gameplay demo
Montage/ reel of previously announced PS studios games, reminder of Astro being installed on every PS5.
Select third parties, timed exclusives announced (e.g. possibly Starfield). I think we'll see at least 5 games here, one specifically is FF16 announced, timed exclusive
One new PS studios game announced (most likely from Japan Studio - Silent Hill if it exists)
Closing/ recap montage of lots of PS5 games
Price & date Reveal - 399/499, Nov. 20th
Possibilities:
Destruction All-Stars if its ready could be announced as a launch title too and the first PS+ title for PS5, Sackboy could possibly do this as well. This is more of a hope though, not predicting it.
Horizon gameplay demo - I would have predicted this will be there if show was 1hr+. Could still be but leaning to no now.
TLOU2 multiplayer reveal - this will be like Warzone I think, F2P but inside TLOU2 to play it. Its announced if its ready soon but if there's some problems or its got bigger in scope it'll be missed. Could be a cross gen launch title, could be a while away. I'm not predicting it but I hope it will be there.
This event will be fairly light on new announcements but there should still be 2 or 3 good ones.
PS studios games that aren't launch will be left aside for now, Sony will have another show early next year or in December I think.
What would be cool if they have all the games on the PS4 ready to play. Then they show off boot up time and how quick it is to load up each game.

Yeah part of me is disappointed that its only 40 mins so won't be an E3 style big event like the first one was. It'll be interesting to see how they approach it.

I mean sony clearly said it was going to focus on launch games. I don't expect this to be devoid of announcements but I don't think we should expect a ton either. not in 40 minutes... I expect sony to focus on extended looks into AAA games that will distinguish sony from MS. this is Sony's next gen strength and what they need the conversation to focus on if they are to remain the console leader. ..especially now that series s is priced at $299.

Depends if you'd consider FF16 a surprise, I expect that. Also expect Demon Souls to be confirmed this year. Perhaps not launch but 95% sure its 2020. That would be a surprise to some.

I expect at least one new game. that doesn't mean I expect it to be a big game. mostly I expect more details on launch games. with 40 minutes however that can't mean too many extended looks. but I will say that if sony has no new announcements sony will have lost the day.
I'm hoping for an unexpected system feature. I can't think of anything I want but I was pleasently surprised by

- share play
- remote play
...so there is room for more pleasant surprises I'm sure.
I hope we see some announcement around ps+ and ps now. I really would like to see a service that let me play all my digital ps5 games on ps4 now for some reasonable premium.
This is a long shot but I think there's a small chance of Uncharted being shown. Even if it's just an Uncharted 4 remaster. In the music to the event reveal viideo they subtly use the "Where is my mind" music . That's the same song they used in a TV spot for Uncharted 4.

i fully expect that sony's main AAA titles will get some next gen polish. uncharted, GoW, TLoU2, GoT, Horizon at least. i personally think the only reason sony isn't talking about it is they want the mass market to be thinking about all the new games sony is bringing and not BC. BC is cool and all, i don't want to diminish the feature,.. but at the same time new titles is what will drive sales.

that said i want to amend my prediction for wednesday's show...
...there have been some statements around ps5 being the most "customizable" console ever. i think on wednesday that they might show off the customization options available at launch. or maybe a special edition either for some launch units or for spiderman or ratchet.
Given how many people get tripped up by lighting, maybe PS5 has a dimmer switch in the back that gets connected to the room circuit. Want a gray/black PS5? Just set that option in the PS5 menu and wabam.

Even the PS5 specs, weren't known until announcement. There weren't any insiders that pinned it down. (the GitHub was close, and Matt said it didn't tell the whole story but that was pretty much it.)

God I'm torn on this show. It dragged so fudgy much in the middle and they gave essentially almost no dates for anything. The prices are good, but I "predicted" those months ago I think (:P), the PS Plus Collection things seems pretty nice, but I think I own like 80% of the games they showed, Spider-Man looks great, Demon's Souls looks great (but I can't believe they didn't even mention a year or anything) God of War in 2021 is crazy (but lol at announcing with a fudgy logo), FFXVI and Harry Potter look cool.
But where the hell were all the other first party games from Sony's last showing? Some even strangely popped up in the montage at the end, with what I think was new footage....
No offense to those games, but did we really need that Cod thing? Fortnite? Oddworld, really? I don't really understand what that DMCV thing was. A complete edition? Why did that need to be in here? Why have all these dumb transitions???? D:
If Sony really has all these "bombs" that "insiders" keep talking about, then they absolutely could do a better way of structuring this event.

Destruction All-Stars if its ready could be announced as a launch title too and the first PS+ title for PS5, Sackboy could possibly do this as well. This is more of a hope though, not predicting it.
Horizon gameplay demo - I would have predicted this will be there if show was 1hr+. Could still be but leaning to no now.
TLOU2 multiplayer reveal - this will be like Warzone I think, F2P but inside TLOU2 to play it. Its announced if its ready soon but if there's some problems or its got bigger in scope it'll be missed. Could be a cross gen launch title, could be a while away. I'm not predicting it but I hope it will be there.
This event will be fairly light on new announcements but there should still be 2 or 3 good ones.

How often does the closing sizzle show new gameplay of stuff? Its usually previous moments remixed. Theres a few secs of Returnal and destruction all stars in there. Returnal has a UI and everything.

demon's souls looked amazing. looks like they changed up the gameplay a bit on the spider boss. wonder if there are other changes too.
playstation collection is a good value add to blunt gamepass. gamepass obviously has more games but it is also waaay more expensive. i own most of these but i'll get days gone for free so i'm happy. 5 other games too but i'm not that keen on them.
price is as expected,.. i'm going to get the disc version. $499 isn't much money to me especially when you factor in the thousands of dollars a year i save in movie rentals from the library.
oh my fudgy god did my heat skip a beat when the GoW audio played. 2021 is amazing but if it is that close sony should have been able to show... something.
all in all a good show. not quite the xbox killer we were hoping for but a much better showing than halo lol.
Changing my rating to 5/10 for the showcase considering DeS is a launch game, so that was a nice chunk of launch game gameplay. Would have been promoted to 6/10 for the whole show if they actually announced it as a launch title during the show, that would have been a huge exciting moment. Add a highlight reel for launch games showing more of Destruction AS, Sackboy and Astro and it could have been a 7/10 show.
The after show stuff on the whole was okay. Finding out the great first party launch lineup was fantastic, pre-order mess was awful but I got mine in at least, price hike is shame for outside of the US, Spidey and Horizon being PS4 is meh news.
