Wow. This is more than just franchise fatigue imo. Maybe people just didn't want a Solo film, especially without Ford himselfYes this is a combination of a very large number of negative factors. I have no idea how to unpick this, just a few days ago I was thinking it would do way better than this, and that was still bad. Thus isn't just lack of money for Disney, this movie will lose them quite a bit more than $100m. Something's gotta change after this. Its sad to see too, they really should have stuck to much less regular SW films, and actually listened to fans.
Infinity War passed $1.9bn, its going to be a nailbiter with reaching $2bn or not. While Disney has a lot of problems to sort out with Lucasfilm, they must be absolutely delighted with marvel right now.
