Sony confirms closure of Evolution Studios

Evolution Studios, the developer behind franchises like World Rally Championship and MotorStorm, has been shut down by Sony, we've just learned. The company's most recent DriveClub was a troubled project for the studio and Sony, having seen delays and online problems - 55 people had been cut from Evolution just one year ago. Now, Sony has made the tough decision to make the rest of the Evolution staff redundant.

They updated again right now.

Before it had a big UPDATE in bold about the lay off instead closure... they even changed the title to layoff only and now it is back to closure.

WTF???

Yeah I thought Drive Club was on the rebound?  I guess DLC sales were poor.  Sucks.

dang this sucks. I really like Driveclub. I am amazed that somehow SCE London remain open despite doing nothing successful for years. Media Molecule should be hoping that Dreams does not bomb too. What a crud day.

Not that I'm aware of, but maybe that is being done by Northwest or whatever the name of that new studio they opened was.
