Keeping the PS4 price up will make the PS5 look like a great deal .

It will just hinder PS4 sales post PS5 release. You can bet your dog PS5 is going to release at 399$. So most people will think that's a great deal in the first place.

The more PS4's sold after PS5 launch means an easier transition during gens and those users most likely upgrading to a PS5 later on. IMO PS4 should be 199$ when the PS5 releases. Or even 150$. 250$ would be too expensive

What about ps4 pro? If it is $300 and PS5 is $400, would it make ps5 feel like a small upgrade?

Yeah I think PS5 needs to be at least 150 more than Pro when it comes out. Something like $299 and $449 or $249 and $399.

They'll probably do a ps4 with no disc drive for $399 and with one for $449 at launch.

Disc drives don't cost that much. Unless both versions are the same from the outside I don't think it'd be worth it.
