PS5 portable is happening, says bloomberg

Likely years away from launch and Sony could decide against bringing it to market.

MS seems set on this path as well:

Nintendo: a handheld that pretends to also be a home console

MSony: a home console and a handheld "series S"


Given the two options I prefer MSony's.   i loath that the switch is such a crud home console when for the majority of the time i play at home on a tv.  but i do really like the idea of being able to buy a handheld that can play my home console's library.   steamdeck is such a terrible experience but the idea is good to me.  i'm certain that the MSony experience will be A LOT better.

As we seen with cross gen games this past gen, they will last long in the generation. PS5 will likely play 90% of the games coming out in the next 8 years or so.

Of a handled comes along that plays that, and they have the sense to make it compatible with PS5 just with a lower res/frame rate, then this could be a huge hit. Basically play your PS library oh the go.
