In Apple's media event held this morning, the tech giant claimed that the new iPad Pro can deliver the same graphics performance as an Xbox One S.

 During this event, which can be seen in its entirety here, Apple said the new iPad Pro can match this graphics performance in a product that's 94% smaller without the need of an AC cord. It also claimed it's faster than 92% of all portable PCs sold in the last month, and that its graphics performance is 1000x faster than the first generation iPad.Click to expand...

I liked the reference to XB1S in the announce, Apple stepping up the iPad Pro for some great Xbox to iPad cross-play matches, nice.

Maybe the GPU inside can deliver similar results in theory. But it would burn up or doesn't have enough battery to run that. Most likely its not clocked high enough to match the XBS

Exactly. Probably also assuming everything could be run with half precision since mobile GPUs can do two of those operations simultaneously.

Yeah I'm sure they do all sorts of PR spins to get that number. But we all know not one game will come close to looking like a standard XB1 game. And frankly it's not just a power difference but also the talent behind the games. mobile games have no where near the budget or time invested in them when compared to dedicated consoles.

Apple should really just stop with these comparisons.
