Competition will be good. We don't need a monopoly on this. Hopefully this will fudge over internet providers big time and make them lower prices and such.

This will be amazing for people in low density areas. In cities it will be a bit more complicated but it'll still give traditional internet providers some much needed competition.


In space though it's a bit more complicated with competition. I imagine that either SpaceX will "win" and be the major player here, or else space internet will be eventually regulated like telephone lines and all companies work together. 4,000 satellites from SpaceX is crazy but ~10,000 satellites from multiple companies fighting for bandwidth will be super crazy. Heck it has already been bad enough with the companies trying to license the frequencies.
