I'm definitely not expecting it this year, but trying to be spicy.SP are smaller than Guerrilla, Insomniac and Santa Monica though. I just think Ghost will take 5 years and as one of Sony's biggest new IP's they'll want to give them all the time they need. Also Iki Island was a rather sizeable expansion so I doubt the whole of SP was working on the sequel till mid 2021.
But I'm not sure why it would be "beyond optimistic".
GoT 1 took a long time, because they were trying to figure out what to make.
GoT Legends and Director's cut would have been earlier on, when they would have been trying to figure out GoT.
Most of the big sequels this gen have been 4-5 years, we're solidly in the 4 year range for GOT 2.
I think 2025 would be realistic, late 2024 would just be optimistic.
