I may be done with this game   >:(

Haha I pulled out my old notebook and I definitely didn't look anything up. I did prioritize puzzles over lore though so I missed a few story things.

Also for fun here's my post from 2016.

so you spent 1 hour on 1 puzzle but finished the entire game in 9 hours...

..not buying that.

Don't worry! You should be able to get out of this!

Try switching to point and click mode. Then move a bit and switch out.

Returnal is quite something.

Very fast paced. Very interesting.

Holy crud. On the spoiler hidden part now and it just dawned on me what I need to do.

Actually not to bad. There's a teleporter near by

I've been jumping around with a bunch of games.  I haven't really felt completely grabbed by anything, so I've been jumping around when I hit a wall with something.

Have slightly mixed feelings on Returnal. So many things about the game are fantastic. The game is visually stunning, the story is interesting. Running around feels good. Maybe it's a mechanical thing that I missed, but it seems like there is an enormous amount of time between shooting. Seems like the guns take like dozens of seconds to recharge. It feels like the primary part of the game is just running around/running away from enemies, and occasionally shooting. Doesn't feel like a good balance to me, right now. I wish that the weapons were weaker with less recharge time.

Switching to Nioh, when I get a little discouraged by Returnal.
Weirdly feels like a PS2 game. But getting used to it, and I'm starting to get excited to play it.

returnal is the one i really really want to play.

but instead i'm playing a bunch of small and kind of shaming games.  thanks ps+ extra!!

currently i'm playing lost words:
https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP4735-CUSA13809_00-LOSTWORDSGAME000

it plays exactly what it was described to me.  it's actually pretty close the the artful escape that i just played.   very lite on gameplay and pretty much just walking from left to right.  somehow i like it better here since the theme of the game is "books".   the overuse of story over gameplay feels better since this is basically supposed to be a book that came alive more than a video game with a story.

still working on GoW.   i'm probably not even half way though.

The jumping around continues.

Started Batman Arkham Asylum. Not even sure why. I think I just wanted to see how well it held up. Was one of my favorite PS3 games.

There's definitely a roughness to it. But there is a lot that I love about it.  Thinking about it overall, I think I prefer Batman AA over Spider-man.

Wow didn't remember you liked it so much. Did you like any of the other batman games?

Yep.

I even played Arkham Knight on PC at launch. Was a huge mess, but didn't stop me from enjoying it.

Arkham City and Arkham Asylum I apparently listed as my #23 and #22 favorite games a few months ago. I think I would swap the rating now.

Actually here are some fun facts.

Was more of a passive fan of Batman before Arkham Asylum.

But it was my second PS3 game, after LittleBigPlanet, and just before Uncharted 2.

When I originally got my PS3, got LittleBigPlanet first. And played a number of demos like Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2, a few others. The AA demo convinced me to get the game. The Uncharted 2 demo might have set me back surprisingly. (For some reason wasn't able to figure out from the demo that I was expected to climb up a sign.)

The AA demo was very interesting after playing the game, because I found they seamlessly combined two different levels to make the demo.

A business week later finished the first game.

Deciding whether or not to go for more of the puzzles.

Some rough edges but still a great game.

Compared to Spiderman, I prefer the level design and world design. (not that they're great but swinging around tall buildings isn't my favorite thing)

Spiderman had a more meaningful ending and slightly better controls than the first Batman game. But I think almost everything else I prefer Batman AA over Spider-man. (except visuals)

I've been playing Rain World. It's really really good. Probably what I wish most soulsborne games were like, where combat/threats are only used to enhance exploration.
