tbh i was never going to watch it.   i'll just search out the announcements the next day.  i hate awards shows.

Not sure why I watched this, but dang. Animations aren't perfect, but dang they're impressive. I'm assuming this is a fairly random cutscene, and yet it blows anything I've seen in the first game out of the water.

Still need to play the game, will probably be in a few weeks.

Hands down the best animations I've seen in an open world game. Almost every single conversation, even those with random vendors, has relatively impressive animations.

Mostly just that Ragnarok does a fair few things worse than Forbidden West and I didn't expect that. Pre release GOW felt like the "true" next gen game yet Horizon 2 often looks better and is more impressive. Even story and gameplay wise I think Forbidden West is better a lot of the time.

I liked Forbidden West a lot when I played it but I didn't fully appreciate how significant its upgrades were, until playing ragnarok. Of course it couldn't replicate the novelty of the first but I think it'll be a long time before a Sony sequel has that big of a glow up.

Decided to put down Horizon DLC, and started Horizon 2.

Generously an hour into the game.

<br>Visually absolutely insane. Except the acid stuff near the start looks kind of jarring. <br><br><br>The UI stuff is a weird mix of extremely minimalist and overly detailed in different spots relative to the first game. &nbsp;<br>They got rid of the markers for items when you disable that option. But then the item list is way more detailed. <br>Stuff like &quot;picked up medicine (1) =&gt; medicine (<img src="https://vizioneck.com/forum/Smileys/default/cool.gif" alt="8&#41;" title="Cool" class="smiley">&quot; <br>I don&#39;t feel that&#39;s necessary... &nbsp;<br><br><br>Lots of interesting changes. Like not having a percentage based medicine plant pocket, and instead just having a handful of berries. <br><br>Lots more dynamic items like ladders that have to be knocked down and a pulley thing. <br><br>I&#39;m not really liking it to be honest. Have to change the way I play from the previous game... The controls kind of punish my dumb habit of pressing X a lot during climbing. In the previous game it generally just made Aloy move. Instead jumped off a spot like 3 times already.<br><br><br>Writing has a few awkward spots. <br><br>This isn&#39;t the exact line, but there was something like:<br>&quot;Elizabeth Sobek, remember me your genetic clone.&quot;<br><br>There were like two or three &nbsp;other spots like that. <br><br>Just awkward writing that is meant to inform the player/remind the player. I think it could have been done better. <br>
