Went to theater and watched twisters. I liked it a lot. Obviously was over exaggerated in parts but it didn't feel too far out there at least

Also Deadpool and Wolverine has passed a billion

Yeah I liked twisters too.

Pi should like this.

Cool. I'm getting better vibes than Missing Link.

But it's early yet.

Watched Kingdom of the planet of the apes.

Cool but so slow. Movies like this are so common yet they are hardly ever great. Normally I assume they're limited by budget but this was a talking ape movie so idk.

fudge. That kills my any excitement I had for the movie. This is exactly the opposite of what people want from planet of the apes. It should be a fasted paced exciting movie

I watched 12 Angry Men for the second time.

The first time was 5 months ago. I had seen clips from the movie like 12 years ago, but that was the first time I recall seeing the whole thing through.

I think the movie is pretty incredible.

There are a few things that really stand out.

1.) the movie is tight. it's only around 90 minutes long and it takes place almost entirely in one room with "12 angry men".

2.) how timeless it is. I think the stuff in 1 helps. There's no aging special effects or anything like that.

But the real impressive stuff is the writing. There's stuff about racism and typical "kids these days" rhetoric. It feels like the movie could be made today. There are movies from the 90's and early 2000's that have aged worse.

3.) to me it feels like the movie has a subtle brag at the end. When juror 9 asks juror 8 what his name is. It almost feels like the movie is bragging that the writing was so good that you knew these characters and were involved with them, yet you did not know any of their names. You knew what kind of person they were and that was it.

I guess it's been well over a decade since I watched it. I'll pop it on and then read your post.

I watched the Matrix again like a month ago, and I must not have talked about it?

The movie is absolutely incredible and the 4k version is great.

I feel like it has a flaw though. The world hasn't changed.

The story arc is ultimately about Neo discovering his place. That's all good and well.

It just almost feels like if you made a Batman movie, to introduce Batman and Joker. But the movie ends when Bruce puts on the suit for the first time. Nothing happens to Joker. You just meet him and see how destructive he is.

The movie was really about Batman putting on the suit and it was absolutely amazing. But it feels weird that absolutely nothing happened to Joker. He's pretty much in the same place as when the movie started.

Legend

I think that's what I like about the first one that gets lots in the sequels. The first is not about a war, but a man within a war.

BananaKing

Well the matrix didn't change. But the characters changed. Which I think is why each character had such a good story arch. Even though it was about neo finding his place, everyone involved found their path too.

Matrix is awesome. I love it. Maybe I need to watch again too...

the-pi-guy

Objectively it's wrong.

The movie wouldn't be made better with changes. It's an absolutely fantastic movie, and I don't think I'd change anything about it.

It just sticks out to me in a weird way though.

A dumber analogy. It's like you've watched this really fantastic movie about a fireman who has a fear of heights. He gets over his fear at the end of the movie. But it just weirdly sticks out that the cat is still stuck in the tree.

The point of the movie wasn't to save the cat, it was all about the growth of the fireman; and showing a scene where the cat gets saved would actually make the movie worse. But it still feels weird.
