Good middle surrounded by two bad chunks, a sandwich with moldy bread.

Easy bottom of the list for Nolan films imo. So boring a lot of the time and the writing was just hilariously dorky here and there. A 2 hour edit could have been much better.

What didn't you like?

Quote from: Legend on Jun 24, 2024, 06:41 PMThe explosion was also disappointing. I had heard in advance that it was bad and yeah, it was bad. Why the heck did Nolan use real explosives when a few pounds of tnt look absolutely nothing like a nuclear bomb?

Nolan doesn't fake stuff. The semi in Dark Knight was a real semi.

It also had a real Batman and a real joker and actually blew up a hospital

I liked most of the los Alamos stuff. Great job building suspense towards the first test.

I disliked pretty much everything else. Like WTF was up with Einstein's speech at the end? It makes no sense. Outside of being Jewish physicists alive during the same events, Einstein had very little in common with Oppenheimer. Why is he passing down sage advice?

He didn't get a real nuke, I'd count it as fake.  8)

The real stuff in batman, interstellar, tenet, and inception were all secondary things that improved the film in subtle ways. Like Interstellar used real corn yet cgi corn combines.

He's busy filming a movie.

Spoiler for Superman (2025):

No excuses. He can fly West to East and go back in time.

Weird the differences that come up in different versions...

It's weird to be in a position where I could make you notice things.

It's also a weird change. I don't think one would notice unless both versions were next to eachother like the video.

It's interesting to me that someone would make different cuts for different media (blu-ray vs DVD).

Ifs also fascinating to me that like the post underneath where this video was posted had links to the original audio synced to the 4k movies that someone put together.

I'm used to noticing slight edits and cuts for tv versions. I just never thought it was something I had to look out for on home media as well.

I bought my first Criterion movie Pinocchio.

Let me know if it's good. I never watched it.

I'm not 100% sure how I feel about Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio.

It hits most of the same story beats as the Disney one, and still manages to be an incredibly different experience.

I think overall it was great, it hits hard.

I watched the new beverly hills cop on netflix. Wasn't that good, wasn't that bad either.

The music really brought me back to my skate city days as a kid.
