I bought protein powder for the first time. Trying to lose weight without losing muscle and it was difficult getting enough nutrition.

My ulnar nerve in my left arm is messed up. On random days while benching it has hurt in a "that doesn't feel right" way. It became more and more frequent though so I scaled back bench presses and then stopped entirely. I tried my first bench tonight in over a month (and I used an empty bar) and the nerve still freaked out so guess I need to see a doctor  :P

that sucks.   maybe it's time to transition over to water aerobics.

18 months of semi-regular exercise is pretty good for me.

Think there's something wrong with the cable now though, the display will turn on, but it isn't collecting data. Been a bit demotivating to not see how much I've put in.

Spoiler for Hidden:
what I should have said for my first post in the thread.
Realizing that they're probably not considered toddlers anymore.   :'(

The wire that connects the display to the rest of the bike, broke. And it's been making it harder for me to want to exercise. And for some reason I am having a hard time finding replacement parts for this bike.

Is it a fancy display or just a few hard coded lcd numbers?

The latter.

Still go to the gym most days to lift some weights. Been adding more to my legs because I feel they've been lacking compared to upper body, probably a common guy problem hehe

I'm not sure.

The wire was pulled out from the metal casing from the base, and that doesn't seem to open.

It shouldn't be that hard to just to get a replacement cable, but it just doesn't seem as easy as it should be.

Hadn't realized it's been so long since I last posted here. Over the summer I did really good. Solved my elbow by just having a really wide grip. Got to the lowest weight and most strength I've ever had as an adult.

Then went on a few vacations and that turned into an extended holiday with christmas. No exercise at all but also I didn't eat much as I thought so I didn't gain weight. Didn't lose too much strength, but certainly lost some. Strained a foot muscle helping my aunt and uncle move so I haven't even been doing dog walks.

Now I'm back into things. Going to train for a 10k, starting from scratch. I'm forcing myself to eat at least 1,000 calories a day which doesn't even feel like a diet. More like a training regiment.

I read an article a while back that I thought was interesting.   they took a bunch of people that worked out a lot and then required people to take extended breaks of varied lengths:
- 2 weeks
- 4 weeks
- ...
- 1 year

then they let everyone workout again for something like 4 weeks and compared that to a bunch of people only just started working out for the first time in those last 4 weeks.

basically the conclusion was:
1. it took a surprising long time for people's muscles to "degrade" while taking a break.

2. after starting to work out again people could get back to "peak" fitness surprisingly fast while those new to working out made surprisingly little progress.

it's like "muscle memory" is a real thing.
