Google gaming keynote | March 19th, San Francisco | ResetEra (https://www.resetera.com/threads/google-gaming-keynote-march-19th-san-francisco.100580/)
Interesting. Games on here should be interesting according to insiders (doesn't mean anything from known franchises, just something that would be good)
Oh boy it is happening!!!
Sports game!
Rock band!
Adventure!
Car racing!
Battle royale!
Shrooms!
Space!
Castle!
It is going to be crazy if google actually turns into a competitor in the console space!
Anyone hyped? This could easily end up being nothing but it could also be a huge press conference with them trying to join the big three.
I'll be watching live.
-racer
-music
-cave
-space
-underwater
-castle

I should be watching live too.
Would be cool if the doors ended up being part of games.
2 hours!
Stream is live. Funky intro, looks googly so we'll see how serious this is.
*Live view*
LIVE VIEW!
It's a G, wow...
This might be E3 conference levels of awesome!
CEO of google
lol the dinosaur game.
If this is cloud streaming that would be ironic
It certainly would. :D
The truth comes out. AI for games.
I think it will be streaming only :(
Uh oh. :o
New controller?
So is it a console? Or streaming? Or what?
It's derpy atm, probably streaming. Stadia
Phil is back!
Better see some ducks.
Stadia huh
Tell me more deets google
So this is why they shut down youtube gaming
"Knows the difference between RPG and NPC" Is that what he said. :o

I missed the controller, but they apparently patented this awhile ago. Is this it?
Thanks I hate it
Yeah it was in all their promo videos
Always good to see Yves' smile :D
I really need to see this in action
That's a really cool concept. But how do people pay?
Ok yeah this is huge even if it is just streaming. It has the wow factor.
Stream just went crazy lol oops
I'm a few seconds behind. :(
How bad would it be, if it didn't work. :o
I saw some lag!
Dooom!!
Better than that pic at least
Noice
That's a really cool wifi concept
Same button pattern as the Xbox.
(on the right I mean)
That assistant button sounds dumb and useless unless they just did a poor job explaining it.
Bigly.
Auto youtube. Would be funny to stream youtube at a higher setting than it's being played.
10 teraflops default, that's pretty good.
Hehe. Stadia > Xbox One X > PS4 Pro
It's less impressive once you realise those are last gen systems ;)
Yerp.
ID.
This is all sounding great. Game streaming isn't fully ready imo but google seems to be fully investing in this. Also google is working with spacex on improving internet
"Sony's double agent putting in fudgy work" Era comment. :D
Yeah I really just need to see the money side of things. How do players pay and how do devs pay.
PayersGonnaPay
OG this would be perfect for multiplayer
CrossPlatformPlay

dope outfit
I'm not watching, can somebody give me a summary so far?
Thank you, I just put it on.
What is that pic supposed to be?
Pushing the envelope^
Banana, streaming games but doing lots of things only possible due to streaming. 10 teraflops*X, play from youtube videos, massive multiplayer
This stream connect is cool if latency is low enough.
Banana:
-Cloud computing using multiple GPUs.
-Play on any device
-Stream to YouTube from Google
Summary from Era:
-A streaming only, INSTANT Access system with controller.
-Streams up to 4K 60fps HDR, will later add support for 8K
-Stadia instances are 10.7 Teraflops of GPU power
-Can click Play Now in a STADIA enabled browser and join instantly on sites like YouTube.
-Connects using Chrome as a streaming platform across many devices.
-Single code base enjoyed across desktop, laptop, TV, tablet, and phone.
-Works on existing devices - Chromecast, Chrome browsers, and Chrome browsers.
-Works with existing controllers, not just Google controller
-Cross-platform multiplayer and save files
-Low latency platform for "everyone."
Sony's gonna have to push PS Now better.
Steam is going to really have to work hard to not lose market share to this. Either team up or fight back
This machine learning is cool but eh...
Sony has to figure out what PS Now is. Right now it's avoiding streaming related things.
yeah this all has great potential. Hopefully they can deliver on everything they say
State Share: shareable moment. Eh
State share was poorly explained. Is it just cloud saves but open for everyone essentially? VizionEck Adventure has something similar but it's just hotlinking to specific areas.
Probably up to devs
Streamers hate stream cheating though. This doesn't sound like a good thing for many games.
Hey it's Matt.
Google just used state share on my stream. Not really. it just repeated itself.
Haha me too. This stream has had a couple issues.
Another stream glitch
Reddit advertising, wonderful lol
Game studios!
I turned off when Mr. I'M A YOUTUBER came on stage.
Haha he's actually cool. He's not really a youtuber in that sense.
No game announcement?
This year.
US, Canada, UK, most of You'reUp
#Meh
#Ok
I was secretly hoping they'd have a console to be released.
I really like their goal but this conference really ignored a lot of key details. Should have either had more flash or actually explained some things.
Truly a #GDC showing. Although, it was light on details
I hope Sony does something similar to their PS4 announcement for PS5. This made me excited for it.
The big thing for me was that this really kicks off next gen. It's also good because it gives Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft plenty of time to craft their responses.
Also can we go back to the fact that they happily showed a reddit post being used for marketing? Is Chrome going to automagically add these play now buttons to everything or are websites OK with that?
This shame was painfully boring.
They have a lot of big promises to fill.
What if Stadia comes to Xbox and PS?
What if Stadia comes to Xbox and PS?
I don't think either would allow it in the current form. No way to make any money off of it.

True.
I'm guessing it'll be a monthly subscription. Unless Sony/MS could get into a deal with Google or maybe get their own subscription that would work on top of it.
Although it'd be funny if the console web browsers basically accidentally supported it.

In the test last year did it work on every browser or just chrome? I would not be surprised if it's purposefully designed as a chrome feature instead of a web feature.

Just chrome.
They said in the stream that it was going to initially be Chrome exclusive, but other browsers would be supported in the future.
I mean it should have been obvious but stadia is regular streaming tech with the same issues as other platforms.
166 ms lag.
Having split screen with no drop in quality is pretty sweet though
