Everyone expects 60 fps and 120 fps games next gen, but what about gsync?

Framerates will start to matter a lot less.

Higher is better but with g-sync a framerate of 42-48 fps is great. There is less of a reason to push for 60 fps 100% of the time because the screen is not 60 fps 100% of the time. Dropping to the 50s and even 40s with gsync is smooth and never produces jitter. It's exactly like a game with dynamic resolution dropping to 900p. The player may notice but it's minor.

So if g-sync becomes common enough, I think only specific genres like fighting games will stick to locked 60 fps. Graphics heavy games will be fine with large chunks being in the 40s.

Gsync is Nvidia.

Both have it, but I'm curious how many games will support it.
