Concept:
Horizon is an action RPG from the third person perspective. Features an open world with dynamic day-night cycle and weather system. Takes place in a post-post apocalyptic environment. The world has ended, but it is coming back with lush greenery. The world is ruled by the machines.
Gameplay:
Play as Aloy, hunter/archer. A variety of ways to kill enemies. There is a skill tree with 3 categories (Prowler - stealth, Brave - combat, Forager - healing/gathering). Aloy can hide in foliage. Hack certain creatures with tools.
Save points and fast travel can be accessed by interacting with campfires once discovered. Dialogue wheel to communicate with players.

Development:
Horizon began in 2011, following the release of Killzone 3.
Uses the Decima engine (Killzone, Death Stranding)
John Gonzalez (Lead Writer for Fallout: New Vegas, and co-designed Shadow of Mordor Nemesis system.) was brought on the team.
From CD Projekt RED: (Lead Cinematic Artist Pawel Swierczynski, Quest Designer Dennis Zoetebier, Senior Technical Designer Shadi Dadenji) were all brought on the team.
