Faux quick reply for guests?

Here's what I'm thinking.

We show the quick reply option for guests. This will hopefully make them write out a response and hit post.

Then bam! We hit them with the registration page. Quick fill out and then their original reply gets posted. Eh?

Perhaps make a note of the fact that they need to register first?  Like this?

With Quick-Reply you can write a post when viewing a topic without loading a new page. You can still use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post.  Guests need to register before being able to publish their post.

Yeah if it's hidden like that.

The point would be so the persen invests the time into writing a response, so then they're more likely to follow through with registration.
