PlayStation’s Jim Ryan: ‘We’re making a completely new VR format for PS5’ | British GQ

What about PlayStation games on PC? A whole slate of them is on the way starting with Days Gone this spring. And as for Sony's publishing timetable for the year? Well, Covid has been up to no good again and booted Gran Turismo 7 back to 2022.

Wowza.  Poor Legend.

I think playstation and gaming as we knew them are dead.

Long live gaming.

i don't particularly hate that they are bringing some games to PC.   i choose to game on a console because i prefer the console experience to PC.  it doesn't ruin my experience that some PC gamers can play horizon or days gone.  my only concern is that if more people play on PC than ps5 that i might not be able to find a community of people to play online with so if sony is going to support PC they should commit to cross-play too.

I hate it because I love what playstation has been and I'm afraid that will be ending.

Awesome games will always be made though. The future as a gamer will be great regardless of how games are made, delivered, and played.

This.

Even as someone who is building and has been built high end PCs, the console experience is just a lot better for me.

This also.

But I don't think PlayStation will change too much. I don't think the console experience is going anywhere because of the PC experience.

I'm more concerned about Gamepass/like.

It feels like they pulled a 180 and decided Xbox was the gold standard. A gamepass clone is coming for sure.

agreed.  i think must people who choose consoles are like me,.. we choose consoles because they "just work".   PC's are expensive to put together and difficult to maintain.

with sony and ms now supporting PC there is a very good argument that PC has the definitively best games library.  ...but still its not a good enough reason for me to convert to PC.  it's just too high stress for me.

what i hate about gamepass is what i hate about netflix.   there is plenty to like about netflix but sometimes i get really angry and the 10 episode and cancel within 3 seasons "rule" that netflix does.  i get it,.. it's a subscription service so they want a lot of content to release continuously and that viewership tends to lower in decrease from season to season...   but for fudges sake do i get angry when a show i love is canceled after just 10 or 20 episodes.

i don't want my games to be made like that.

I need to get something off my chest right now:

I fudgy hate, legitimately despise the Playstation community on Resetera.

It is the most outrage driven, apocalyptic, moron filled Playstation community, that I can even imagine.

Every time one of Sony's competitors does something, they lose their head and start acting like Playstation is basically doomed.
Every time Sony announces something in a way they don't agree with, they lose their head and start acting like Playstation is basically doomed.
When Sony doesn't inundate them with trailers, announcements and info constantly, they lose their head and start acting like Playstation is basically doomed.
Whenever Sony does anything their Franz Ferdinands don't understand (which is a lot, because they sure as hell aren't able to think deeper than surface level) they act like Playstation is basically doomed.

Case in point, today's Days Gone announcement. Now they are seriously acting like swaths of people are going to migrate from PS5 to PC because they are going to be thinking "sure, I'll wait 2+ years to MAYBE get these games on PC instead of playing on PS5", yeah, sure buddy...

I wish some of these clowns would act on their empty "threats" and sell their PS5 to switch to a gaming PC, I can already see their posts after that in my head: "Waah, when will Sony finally release XYZ on PC" for every conceivable Sony release. Oh wait, that'd be obnoxious as hell, too, oh well not much of a difference to now.

Don't really have a point here so rant over.

I agree with most of their political views, but their political discussion board is still entirely pointless as it literally just serves to lure out people with differing, and sometimes we're really talking slight differences at best, views to shame and ban. If it's all just a big echo chamber, they can just ditch it and focus their moderation efforts on improving the trainwreck that is games discussion on there.

Also it's always funny how quickly all the people on there, who will proudly call themselves leftists and socialists, throw those views out the window, whenever it comes to defending their favourite corporation.

exactly.  i'm pretty dang liberal and i just entirely avoid posting because even the slight appearance of disagreement results in bans.    ...and there is really no point to posting anyways if any comments that results in discussion is viewed as a bannable offense.

i'm done with posting there.  it's worth reading but not worth participating.
