Shawn Layden, Head Of PlayStation's Game Studios, Departs (https://kotaku.com/shawn-layden-head-of-playstations-game-studios-depart-1838643917/amp)Sony has announced that Shawn Layden, chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios and a mainstay of PlayStation's E3 press conferences, will be leaving the company. No reason was given for his departure, and a successor has not been named.
That's unexpected. Hopefully all is well.
A lot of people who worked oh the ps4 are gone. I hope sony understands what made the ps4 so successful and keeps at it
Isn't Japan's head gone too?

Layden became the CEO the year after PS4 came out.
And I think before that he was mostly in the PlayStation Network part.
That's unexpected. Hopefully all is well.
The rumor that probably shouldn't be trusted as far as it can be thrown is that there were disagreements between Jim Ryan and Layden about what PlayStation should be moving toward.

Maybe, think it was Japan's studio though, not Asia's. Unless they merged.
Layden, who spent 32 years at Sony, was the third head of the PlayStation unit to leave the job in the past five years. Jack Tretton, who held the job for eight years, left in 2014. And Andrew House, left in 2017, ending a 27 year run with the company.
Other recent high profile departures include Adam Boyes, who oversaw relations with third-party companies, in 2016 and John Drake, former head of Sony's portfolio and content acquisition efforts, who left earlier this year.

They've been doing a lot of restructuring. Hopefully it all results in even better things but it can be a bit worrying.
