Xbox 100k milestone in Japan. At long last. What did 360 reach?
VizionEck Cube Royale is releasing this year "I'm Mike Armbrust" -Me |
Over 1.4million. Xbox One is a catastrophic collapse from that.Holy shame didn't realise they dropped the ball that hard in Japan. They'll probably sell 10% of that lifetime
Black Ops 4 sold a pitiful 260k first week in the UK, only just over half of WW2 and the lowest in 11 years, since Modern Warfare. Meanwhile, Activision announced Black Ops 4 is their biggest digital launch ever, setting the new record PSN all time first day sales, a new activision record on xbox and the PC launch more than doubled last year. There is nothing to suggest that the uptake in digital sales grew so drastically YoY. While digital is still growing, Physical sales still represent the majority of a games sales. If sales were up YoY they would have said so, like they did with digital sales. Not use players on the first day. I don't see how the increase in digital sales would somehow offest the massive decrease in physical sales.
So... who knows whether its up or down! This quote would suggest it is still up WW over WW2: 'the total number of people who connected online to play Black Ops 4 increased from last year's release'
With fifa also dropping dramatically this year, perhaps the UK market has seen a big shift to digital this year. Not sure why the jump would be so big compared to last year, perhaps amazon pre order discount stopping/ stock issues?
Aloso interesting, COD only launched 37% higher than Spider Man.

The only suggestion that digital may have jumped up this year is that physical sales are dropping uncharacteristically in these big franchises. However that could be just down to the UK market being in a bad way, or a number of other factors.
However the game might have sold more but in the UK it dropped. Remember Activision's PR is about a launch WW not just UK.
I thought digital was making 30% of all sales now, and increasing.I think the average is over 30% now, but some games of course will be much higher. For example Destiny 2 had a digital ratio of something like 15% higher than the average in the UK last year.
