Finished Obduction. It has a lot of great things and some areas it lacks. The story I really found interesting.
Spoiler for Hidden:
I love the idea of portions of other planets being intwined with other and the game mechanics that stems from it and also the the type of puzzles it creates, but, some of the puzzles are very good but some are simple and tediously lengthy. And that Villein number system? I hate Villein number system!!! Out of the four worlds you visit, one had this semi-openworldness to it, which isn't a problem in itself, but the short paths that stemmed off to nowhere were pointless and annoying just to try and give the illusion it's not as linear as it is that same world had those darn bridges. Another world had nothing to it. Just a path to one location and back out again.

Also no reward for exploring. It's not a must but I love it when games do reward you.

There are way more positives though. I like the story, 75% of the puzzle and the teleporting from one side of the map and to other worlds was neat. The transition effect while transport between world was oddly impressive. Overall, I loved spending time in this game even though at one point I spent 10 hours plus on working out something simple.

Also just finished The Pedestrian. The puzzles where well made. A lot of the puzzles felt initially a little bit "what-the-hell-do-I-do-here" but then working it out felt rewarding. Also a good balance of not to hard but hard enough without being frustrating.

I am fully on board with Hogwarts Legacy. So addicting to explore. Almost 20 hours in and i think i'm only just over 1/3 through the story.

After i fully 100% Hogwarts, i'll jump back to Forspoken then Callisto Protocol

What made you dislike the number system?

Spoiler for Hidden:
Because I don't think an intelligent lifeform would ever devise such a overcomplicated system to write a few numbers... ok, it's mainly because I didn't get it and had no real urge truly understand it. I did watch a vid of somebody explaining it and it made sense but then I have to remember it all and urgh! Then couple that with the bridge system, I just ended up doing random patterns until it worked.
So basically, I dumb. Don't judge me.

Haha I just did random patterns on those parts too. Had no clue what you were supposed to do.

Hopefully you enjoy the number system in Hapax more. It's more intuitive than the Obduction or FEZ systems, but it can get brutally complex as you go deeper down the rabbit hole.

I don't mind spending time working stuff out. I like a game where you have to get the notepad out but just couldn't get my head around it and there was little point in having to learn anyway lol

Yeah I was bummed there wasn't more to do with it. Their other game Riven used the number system a lot more.

Just started Haven Moon. First thoughts, this place is dangerous. There's a lot of electricity about and a lot of exposed metal :-\

Also, if anybody wants to add me on Steam I'm SWORDF1SH66

Finished Haven Moon. A fun little Myst-like puzzle game that heavily relies on being observant.
Only real complaint is the lack of visual/audio cues when you solve part of a puzzle. An example being when I get the generator to work, there are no sounds or sparks coming from the wires to indicate you've completed that part of the puzzle. It sometimes leaves you wondering if you've done it right.
The puzzles doesn't really require a lot of thinking but more about keeping your eyes open for clues.
For a game made by one guy, it's really good.

So one of my great shames as a gamer: /s

is that I've never finished Horizon 1. I remember getting stuck on some boss battle, that I think was the last one in the game, and wasn't able to get out of it to do other things.

Tried a couple of other times to play through, but usually I get picked up by another game. I feel like it's an issue I've always had. I feel like I would rather play my favorite game 11 times, rather than play a game I even like just fine once through. Especially if I hit a wall somewhere and stop having fun. It's just easier to play something else for a bit.

I still haven't played Horizon 2 despite preordering it. I would like to genuinely get into Horizon 1, and finish it.

So many games I'd like to play. It just feels kind of discouraging. I usually only have an hour or two a day to play a game, and it often feels discouraging to play long games if I'm not absolutely loving every second of it. Like Death Stranding is like 40 hours for a typical playthrough. Which means it would probably take me somewhere between 3 and 6 weeks to play it through.

But I'm going to try to finish Horizon this time.

Still have a bunch of other games to finish that I've put in a fair amount of time into.
Death Stranding
Ghost of Tsushima
Sackboy
Returnal
Nioh

and there are probably a few others that aren't coming to mind.

Writing all this out, kind of makes me rethink some of the Batman AA stuff.

I think it helps a lot that its a relatively short title, and it helps that I've played it before. So I didn't have to figure out many of the challenges.

But still it is an awesome game and I still felt like I wanted to explore more even though I got all the riddles for once.
