Keep the format of 3 guesses, high end, low end and something in the middle. But change the scoring. A maximum of 10 points for each prediction. 10 points for exact prediction and 1 less point for every number you are out.
Example prediction ;
H - 85
M - 80
L - 75
If the final Metacritic is 80. You'd get 5 points for the high prediction, 10 points for your medium and 5 for the low prediction.

I think this would make betting more tactical. People predicting a smaller range have a lower chance of getting points with a higher reward while wider ranges would have a higher chance of getting points but with a smaller reward.

Thoughts?

I'll take the silence as an unanimous agreement. Change the rules Mikey!

The current system works fairly similar but with negative points for getting outside the zone. In general, how does the community feel about negative points?

Pros: balances the system so that there are less consequences for missing a prediction thread.

Cons: getting zero points feels like a loss even though it's an average/ok result.
