The next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition will be available for purchase digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, featuring all free DLCs released to date, and both major expansions: Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine. Moreover, a free next-gen update will be available for everyone who owns any release of the game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A physical edition will be released following the initial digital rollout, with a specific date to be announced at a later time.

So if you own just the base ps4 game, will you get the complete ps5 version for free?  8)
Sounds like a no. Just the same content you already own but optimized for PS5.

I'm actually kinda surprised they made a next gen upgrade. I guess they already had cyberpunk, but haven't they abandoned their custom engine? Seems this port will either be pretty whelming or have required a lot of dev work for not a lot of payoff.

They've been turning it around since launch slowly. Cyberpunk is in a decent state now. Edgerunners was awesome and helped push sales. And they have The witcher remake and witcher 4 coming. Its starting to look good again for CDPR


Which means it will be a few more billion expensive for MS when they buy them
