Ford and now GM have both announced they're switching to using Tesla chargers.

The government was pushing to make Tesla switch, but this announcement will probably stop that.

Tesla has the best infrastructure already in place so it only makes sense.  Hopefully this will also help get a push for a shame ton. Ore superchargers to be installed even on top of ones that are planned

It's funny how he doesn't care about standardizing the plug in location since that seems like a pretty good thing to do. Electric cars need to sit and charge for a while so making sure all of them can slot in without issues is pretty important.

The non tesla is absolutely doing the right thing for them, but it inadvertently takes up two charging spots instead of one.

Tesla opening up their charging network is pretty simple. They're by far the most popular electric car brand and they've spent billions creating their charging network, yet the US government has been ignoring them when working towards an ev future. This move keeps Tesla in control and at the front of the pack.

i have no love for tesla but i'm grateful standardization seems to be happening.   imagine needing to find specific gas stations depending on which car you bought...
