Why do we feel things?

Because it was found to be helpful by natural selection. Both physical and emotional. 

Physical: feeling pain is important for the body.  Tells the body that something is broken.  Feeling pressure tells the brain that there's something there. 

Emotional: emotional attachments were more important because they meant that children get taken care of, and other individuals.  Groups are more effective than individuals. 


The why we feel things, can be from electric fields pushing against us, and the brain sending those signals to the brain.

Similar for emotional. Brain gets activated, and that's what an emotional response is.
