My favorite thing is that you keep coming back to your post to edit in more links.

You really want this to be considered a flop don't you.

It is a flop. Nothing I want will change that

Also, since official numbers came out, the movie lost 1m from the estimate

Last Divergent movie is skipping theaters due to poor performance. Smaller budget than ghost buster and will have a better global showing.

Straight to DVD? Ouch that's horrible.

Not necessarily.
Allegiant launched in like twice as many countries.  And first weekend is about 15m GB to 25m Allegiant.  GB is doing better in the UK, Australia than Allegiant.
GB isn't even launched in some of the biggest markets.

Allegiants biggest markets (in order) - Russia, France,  Brazil, UK, Spain, Italy.
These were all the markets where it did over 1m first week.
By comparison GhostBusters hasn't launched in Russia, France, Spain, Italy.
Won't necessarily do well in those markets, but it has yet to launch in the biggest markets.

Meanwhile it's tracking at about 30m higher than Allegiant in the US.
So the jury is still out on it.

If you take only the countries that Ghostbusters has launched in, it's beating Allegiant almost 2:1.   There is literally no evidence (yet) that Allegiant is winning. This does not even include the US showing where it'll beat the entire running of Allegiant's US run in the next day.

Everything below Australia is only for Ghostbusters, don't know why it isn't lining up.  :P

It's above the original opening weekend when adjusting for inflation? Unexpected imo

You are clearly unaware of how movies worked back then

Straight to DVD? Ouch that's horrible.
Worse. Straight to tv

Not necessarily.

Ghost busters will not launch in China. Game over for ghostbuster

the-pi-guy

Ghostbusters will make up that by doing much better in the US than allegiant.
It'll make up for what Allegiant made in China by this weekend.

Straight to DVD? Ouch that's horrible.
I've heard TV movie and they are possibly working in new stuff for a TV series.  I will say though that while I still liked Allegiant, it was absolutely trash when it came to being anywhere near the book story.  It seemed to barely even resemble what the last book was.  Divergent overall is the best movie from the franchise and even that is not nearly that good of a movie.

I could have swore they were filming both allegiant and ascendant back to back, but I guess not.  I'm actually surprised they didn't as most of the movies that are split into two parts are filmed that way.

Legend

Star Trek Beyond was really great. I didn't like the other two too much but loved this.
