Cause PC sucks donkey nuts.

Or do you want a serious answer?
Multiple things.

For starters it wouldn't be possible to release it on PS4 and PC simultaneously.

The actual act of porting the game over to PC wouldn't be that hard since I'm using Unity, but then there are all the other complications with releasing on PC. I'd have to do A LOT more work with optimizing the game and making it run glitch free on every configuration. PS4 is a beast and I'm free to use all that power as I want, but with VizionEck's graphics PC players would expect it to run lightly and not put any burden on their PCs.

Then I'd need to figure out distribution for PC. Getting on Steam is a must, and the only real avenue for me would be steam greenlight. I believe I'd have no problems getting in, but it'd take a ton of work and marketing.

A later release on PC would be much more manageable, but that is also not really possible. If I had the manpower, would I even want to release on PC?

VizionEck has many original online related features, with only a few of them currently announced. Having two segmented ecosystems would really screw that up. Releasing both versions simultaniously would help, but really the only solution would be having both PC and PS4 players fully integrated. On top of that being a technical hurdle, it'd give players on computers an unfair advantage. FPS games suck on PC, but aiming is more accurate with a mouse. Console players would have a bad experience always losing matches.

Plus with the single player component, the game has a lot of secrets that I don't expect to be solved for months. If the game was on PC, it'd be instantly hacked and everything discovered. There are also mods to be considered, which give players unfair advantages even in single player. Basically the game is the way it is for a reason, and people changing it or getting around that just breaks everything.

And then effing piracy man. Fudge that ship. Yeah I want to make money, but I hate pirates regardless of my financial gain. Being on PS4 early in the gen guarantees everyone playing VizionEck has the decency to play it through legal means. Watch a playthough on Youtube if a potential pirate wants, or even ask me on twitter for a free copy. Just don't steal something from me that I've spent two years working 20 hours a day on. Piracy is a big "f you" to the developers, not just the publishers. Fudge pirates. I could go on and on about this one lol.

What do you mean?
Put it in simple terms, he's saying
1.) Releasing early/late would mean that there would be a split in the fan base. Not fair for how the online is designed.
2.) Releasing at the same time is tricky due to lack of resources - marketing, development, publishing.
3.) Doesn't want to.

:P
