Finally watched the new Jumanji. I see why it did so well now, really entertaining film and plenty of eye candy  ;D

I was surprised with it too. Might be better than the first if you ignore nostalgia even.

I really hope the sequel keeps it a video game (not an app) since so many of those jokes were great!

It's miles better than the first. Only watched that recently and it's not even close.

The video game stuff was awesome.

Disney is like too stupidly big, with Star Wars, Marvel, etc.

It's getting to the point that it's almost irritating that no one else is even close.

Oh yeah especially with 20th Century Fox now too. No other studio comes close

Disney at least is a nice overlord. It's not like their movies are trash.

I really want to see what they do with Fox. Have we learned anything about branding/new projects yet?

There's that, but it's still sad to see the lack of competition.

I don't think we have learned anything.

Fun facts:
36 movies made over 1 billion, 4 released this year, 3 by Disney
4 of the 36, made over 50% of their gross in the US.  Black Panther is a pretty interesting case, as it's the only one to make it into the top 10.

Xevross

Its crazy how well BP did, pretty much thanks to America.

Its also crazy that there's only ever been 9 films to make over $600M domestic, and 4 of those were released by Disney in the space of half a year.

MCU is really taking over the box office, and Pixar keep growing too. Avengers 4 will certainly join the top 10 of all time, and Spidey should make over $1b next year.

Legend

I wonder when/if MCU will decrease in popularity. It just keeps growing and growing.

Post Avengers 4 it'll be interesting to see with the changing of the guard. No more Iron Man or Captain America. If they really nail Captain Marvel though then I think it'll stay as popular as ever with Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Spidey leading the way.

I didn't realize Nick Fury was originally white.

He was redesigned in 2002, to look like Samuel L Jackson.
