That's what I mean lol. He wouldn't leak it and then ruin his relationship with Microsoft.
No it being a stunt ruins his credibility. He'd be considered a joke.

Guys, the price is $499 and that is what has been rehearsed.

What I don't know is what's in the configuration for $499. But that's where it's starting.
I don't leak games because I would never do that to game creators -- they deserve their moment. This is different, it's the price of a piece of hardware.

Reading those posts, if this is indeed a PR stunt he's in on... he's really putting himself out there on behalf of Microsoft. Like, ruin my reputation with the general gaming community as a sellout kind of situation. Which would obviously be incredibly bad for the Game Awards that someone who can be bought is running it. Also, if this is Microsoft feeding Geoff false information, that also bodes ill for Microsoft because they basically risk becoming an industry enemy of someone who is virtually an icon of the gaming media, like him or not.

Yeah, I'm still not able to make sense of this situation, I guess only MS' show will tell.

You sure that's not the name of the price reveal?

Maybe 2 models. 1TB 399 and 4TB 499. I'm pretty sure having that 'make your own robot for under $400' that we will see a $399 model. Something feels wrong with this leak.

But it has to be said, if this price is real, then MS deserves all the backlash that they are going to get for it, it should have been painfully obvious that people would run away with expectations, if you announce the thing with as little information as possible and then go silent for almost an entire year, aside from occasionally fanning up the hype again with empty platitudes.

The only thing wrong with the leak is some guys don't believing it I guess.

The price starts at $499.

Yeah if it is $499 then MS have handled this hilariously badly. They announced this before PS4 Pro for god sake and now its a year later and its way more expensive? They shot themselves in the foot by announcing it so early.

I obviously can't hear Geoff speaking, since this is twitter, but it "appears" someone pissed off Geoff.  Like, Geoff's response to Greenberg's tweet seems vicious.

What responses?
