Xbox Platform revenue increased $104 million or 14%, driven primarily by increased console revenue. We sold in 1.1 million consoles in the fourth quarter, as we drew down channel inventory, compared to 1.0 million consoles during the prior year.

The D&C Hardware segment was renamed Computing and Gaming Hardware in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2014.

So they didn't split the sales to hide the bad Xbox One numbers... just think about they announced 84m for 360 at E3... so the Xbox One sales from these 1.1m will be less than 800k.

Terrible... overshipped a lot in first quarter... the sales to consumers can be lower than 4.8m.

Mmm_fish_tacos

So how bad is this?

So how bad is this?

Think like it shipped less than (800k - What 360 shipped in June).

So confirmed below 5.9m cumulative shipment.

It is pretty bad.

They changed the division name.

They changed the division name.

What does this mean?

Legend

Ok numbers I guess.

What does this mean?

That means (at my first look) all the profit from mobile part that was together with gaming will be out now.... so you start to see this division having serious trouble to make profit.

Maybe they did it to the loss with game division not affect mobile... the focus of Microsoft.

Dr. Pezus

That's pretty low. Not that surprising that they're hiding the One numbers. Sony did it too with Vita (and some Xbox fans made fun of them for it...irony).

Dr. Pezus

Would computing and gaming hardware not include things like PC stuff and/or tablets?

ethomaz

Ok numbers I guess.

It is way better than 160k shipped by Wii U at the same period last year :D

It get bad comparing with Apr-Jun 360... less than 800k (- what 360 shipped in June) put XB1 at works Apr-Jun Xbox since 360 release.

I think tablets and pads are included yet... zune too... just they removed Mobile from division (smartphone, Nokia, Windows Phone, Android Royalties, etc).

Xevross

Xbox One less than 800k. Ouch! Probs about 4.9m sell through then.

Now, a few comments on Xbox

It's important to have a core that's thriving and it's also important to place smart, bold bets on areas you can have impact. With that in mind, we made the decision to maximize value with a focus on gaming. This is the largest digital life category, and it's a place where our past successes, brand, and fanbase present us a great opportunity.

We'll invest in our core gaming and Xbox Live areas with a few toward mobile opportunities. Also know that we're well underway in evolving our culture to deliver on these ambitions. This means simplifying how we work, and modifying engineering processes. Empowering everyone to do more and achieve more in a mobile-first cloud-first world is something MS is qualified to do.
