^^ gorgeous :oI seriously have no idea how they did it. They exceeded ND as best looking game overall. They definitely raised the bar in graphics.
This is gonna be a long month waiting for this game! :'(It's unbelievable. I can't believe this is open world as well. Guerilla have outdone themselves

^That platforming in that gif is a step above I've seen in anything so far. Despite some weird facial animations in the game, Aloy's movement animations are amazing. It looks so assassin's creed. But that's a great thing. GG have really went all out with gameplay on this. It's just hard to believe sometimes
Where is this from?Spoiler for Large GIF:
Where is this from? It's from a Youtube vid of the same length. I have no idea where that came from either.

It looks so assassin's creed. But that's a great thing. GG have really went all out with gameplay on this. It's just hard to believe sometimesYeah I'm really glad it does. It basically took what AC did with it's platforming and made it look tons better. Its literally a mix of AC and Uncharted platforming and that alone makes me hyped.
I love that it has aspects of assassin's creed. I'm a huge fan of the series. For me I think the longevity of the game will come through just admiring the world and all the attention to detail that's in. I'm a huge sucker for amazing foliage in games and this game does it above every other game by so much I'm afraid of what my gamete will be for just looking at the world/foliage. i'm guessing i'll spend upwards of 20 or more hours just fudgy with the photomode.
The gameplay looks like so much fun. My only worry is the longevity of the game... is the story good all the way through, is the gameplay fun and fresh for 40+ hours
Yeah I'm really glad it does. It basically took what AC did with it's platforming and made it look tons better. Its literally a mix of AC and Uncharted platforming and that alone makes me hyped.Story and fun gameplay are the big two for me. If I enjoy playing the game then I'll have fun all the way through. If I start to get frustrated by the gameplay, a great story will still keep me playing.

But I do agree I hope the story is great throughout the whole thing. Sounds like it will be so I'm optimistic.
Story and fun gameplay are the big two for me. If I enjoy playing the game then I'll have fun all the way through. If I start to get frustrated by the gameplay, a great story will still keep me playing.Well for me I like taking photos in game so I can go through and try and deconstruct how it's modeled. It's the easiest way for me to figure out how detailed I can go now in my environments. It was engrained so much to go super low poly for my stuff while I was in school and now I'm trying to catch up to new games and workflows because my school fails to adapt to the industry or even try hard to. I saw a wireframe of Uncharted 4 and it's tessellation and there was likely a couple million polys on screen at any given time and mine have been usually not even 500,000. This game alone will hopefully help me push past my boundaries.
I barely ever use photomode in games. I often admire views in games which are amazing looking but I don't like to stand around for a long time, I wanna keep going with the story :P
If I love a game loads then I'll play it through again and take more time to enjoy the environment though
I LOVE this. I'm going to spend ages working out the best settings for me :DSpoiler for HUD settings:

Nice. They're giving reviewers plenty of time. I wonder when the embargo lifts and the reviews go live?Shinobi said it would be early. No indication how early though.

It was confirmed that reviewers will have to wait and play the game like the rest of us
thats iced up. stupid decision from Ubisoft, it will put a sour taste in reviewers mouth, even though the game seems like it will review well.Yeah its a very odd decision, but one that more publishers seem to be adopting nowadays. I think its more vital for a new IP to get good reviews out there too.

I heard that cauldrons are excellent and very challenging. It sounds like the story and the voice acting are very good, at least in the early game. There's barely any negative comments coming from people who are playing it.
Oh and a couple of people who are playing it have said it feels like Red Dead Redemption

The early part of this game kinda feels like a fully realized vision of the small section of TLOU where you play as Ellie hunting the deer and exploring a beautiful natural world. I'm loving it. Except you're more agile, equipped, and you have a lot you can do in the world. The game reminds me a lot of Red Dead Redemption right now.

Ubi games don't hold my attention long. Not since AC2. I was worried the same would happen here. This game has my attention. It's got collectible resources and enemies strewn throughout the environment, but it doesn't feel bloated with pointless collectibles and objectives (so far). The main story is engaging enough to keep me wanting to know more. The main objectives anchor the open world. The interactions with the environment have a practical purpose just like in TLOU and RDR. You need to confront enemies and harvest resources to get better gear, weapons, and items, which are extremely beneficial to defeating more advanced foes.

I honestly expected the story would be a phoned-in endeavor, a serviceable plot that takes itself way more seriously than can be believed to spin the action of the game into motion. But the voice acting and script and narrative are all actually quite well done. I have empathy for Aloy's situation. The controls are great. The HUD is a little crowded (and very useful) but you can COMPLETELY customize it so that is awesome. I love this world. It's well thought out and the graphics are Uncharted 4 caliber in nearly everything except the facial animations.

Wow this one sets a great impression right from the start. It's beautiful, it controls great, the story is interesting right from the get go. It has all the polish you would expect from a naughty dog game, I am shocked I care about the characters and world so much already. I'm going to talk about some gameplay systems from the first few hours. I finally got loose in the first part of the world and there are a bunch of plants to get which can serve as healing items or stuff to make potions. Basically crafting seems very in depth, and if you ever need a resource you can create a custom side mission and the game will direct you to where you can find it. Really neat and it helped guide me to robots to get shards to make arrows, which I quickly ran out when I tried to take on a semi big robot. So weapon parts and mods you find on robots, healing stuff you find in plants. You don't have to get overwhelmed by it, there seems to be enough to get what you need quick and move on. I got a few side quests, there are random quests to find as you roam around, standard open world stuff. Haven't really completed one yet I have been distracted by just hunting which I love. The robots feel like animals in packs, there is this natural feel to it all how they react and interact with each other. Sneaking by them is thrilling, getting caught creates all sorts of chaos as you either escape or engage. I have fought three types so far, one is a more difficult one with a surprising attack. I managed to kill one only to have another come from behind and totally wreck me. I have had to run away before I can get resources for a kill only to see another robot go to the dead body and gather the resources for itself. So it's all really cool and dynamic. Combat is nice and fluid and feels kind of like new TR. you can unlock specific skills that slow down time, get stealth kills, gather more resources; standard skill tree stuff but a lot of these skills seem super useful. Your melee attacks work great when being charged, dodging is fast and fluid. I still don't have traps, should get there soon. I am playing on very hard so I am being cautious, so I focused more on stealth and it seems a bit too easy. All three of the types I have met so far can be insta killed by stealth which is as easy as hiding in a patch of tall grass, throwing a rock to lure them close then just stealth kill them. I assume that strategy won't be viable for long, but it has helped me to stock up on arrows. If you want better resources you need to shoot components off the robots so there is a little strategy there. Graphically it's gorgeous on a normal ps4. I don't see any performance issues at all, no slow down, nothing. The music so far is really great and dynamic as it nuggets from quiet to action quickly. The animations are ok but not uncharted tier but the art design of the world is as good as anything I have seen. Ok going to play more hopefully I can have some more impressions on how good the content the game offers is as so far I have just been messing around on my own.

I got my copy today and have sunk a couple hours into the game. Here are some early impressions. Also, I'm playing on hard mode and on a PS4 pro. -The intro is well done and has me curious about why Aloy is an outcast and why the world came to the state that it's currently in. -Her model is insanely beautiful, but you can definitely tell that more effort goes into to certain characters. It's completely understandable because of how many characters are probably in the game -The facial animations are not naughty dog level, but I don't believe any other game really comes close. It's looks good enough and the voice acting is better than expected. -The graphic are incredible. It's like uncharted 4 level graphics but on a bigger scale. The lighting is beautiful and natural feeling and the pop in is almost completely unnoticeable even with the amount of insane looking foliage. -Combat is really fun. Enemies hit really hard and can take out half your life in one hit. The first trap gun you get is really satisfying and fun to use. So far combat is my favorite part of the game. -the music is subtle but very beautiful. Overall very impressed with audio/visual elements. I will update more later tomorrow when I get a chance rot okay more. I can also answer any question people might have.
Reviews coming 8 days before release. Sony are confident. Good news!Only 4 days to reviews now! I have everything crossed for a high score!
Only 4 days to reviews now! I have everything crossed for a high score!Everything? :O
Everything? :OEverything.
That feels like TMI.
I just woke up. Time to play more.Another guy who's played about 5 hours said they completely agree with this.
This game so far is really a mix of borrowed "feel" and mechanics from other games, but polished them pretty well I'd say. At 20% or 6 hours in, to kind of summarize my feelings, I would best describe it like this (I'm making mechanics comparisons, take it with a grain of salt as I'm just one person but I think I'm being pretty fair here):
The hunting and foraging feels like a mix between the elements in TLOU and the Tomb Raider Reboots. The natural open world populated with wildlife, NPCs with problems, and towns naturally integrated into the map feel kind of like RDR. Also, whoever asked earlier, you can ride a "horse" (you can take control of beasts on the map and ride them)
The platforming/exploration mechanics (how the character feels as they clamber around the rocky environment) feels like a mix between The Witcher 3 and Shadow of Mordor with a touch of Uncharted (there's some ledge plarforming that surprised me that is obviously ND-inspired).
The bow combat kinda feels like a polished mix between Tomb Raider reboots and TLOU. The hand to hand combat is not too deep but it's satisfying and polished, with the spear that feels kind of like using the tuning fork from inFamous 2, but you have "heavy" and "light" attacks with R1 and R2.
The crafting systems remind me of the Tomb Raider reboots. The ability upgrades remind me of many games that have those features, like Tomb Raider reboots, inFamous, Kingdom Hearts, etc (but it's not as flashy or varied as the last two).
The fights against tougher machines are thrilling and feel a lot like when you battle tough enemies in inFamous 2. Lots of dodging and sliding out of enemy fire, then zooming in to fire shots at weak spots. You feel like two powerful entities battling. This is my favorite part of the game.
There's merchant-style trading like any open world RPG that lets you get new items and weapons and upgrades.
The story could shame the bed later but right now it is opening up to be way more interesting and "oh shame" than I personally expected. I haven't seen an open world action RPG story and lore engross me in unexpected ways at a magnitude like this since Assassin's Creed 1.
The open world RPG style feels condensed and tightly driven around the narrative. Kinda like The Witcher 3 but with even more "fat" trimmed to keep the game's narrative in the spotlight. There's other stuff to do. I had fun just toying around in the open world last night. But the urgency is there to play the main story.
I'll try to refrain from more impressions until I'm much further into the game, like later this afternoon. I'll be able to say if the game maintains its consistency
With all these really positive impressions I'm definitely confident this game will get a 90+ meta.I'm not. The story could drop massively in quality towards the second half of the game (a la FFXV) or the combat could start feeling repetitive, the side quests could get repetitive or the quality of voice acting and dialogue could drop off etc.
Still saying meta 84 which would be a great score for a new I.P.I think, even though that is a good score for a new IP, with how good all the impressions and previews have been and how much this game looks like it'll be really great for me, I'd definitely feel disappointed if it scored 84.
I have 12 days to finish about 30 days worth of backlog.Good luck!
So this is insane detail... ants... that move... on a tree, in an open world... BRICKS shimed! The game didn't zoom in on that to show me, I just used the camera to cause I wanted a tree close up.(https://preview.ibb.co/hk58Yv/Horizon_Zero_Dawn_20170216141347.png) (https://ibb.co/bM1htv)
I think, even though that is a good score for a new IP, with how good all the impressions and previews have been and how much this game looks like it'll be really great for me, I'd definitely feel disappointed if it scored 84.Tbh you are right but I am trying to keep level headed but so many journo's and youtubers I know all all like I am playing something under embago but I cannot wait to talk about it soon, this combined with Gaf's initial impressions lead to me to believe this could truly be this gens truly shining new I.P which would be just terrific.
Right. Some mechanics feel inspired by Tomb Raider reboot's crafting and upgrades and bow combat, but I think I like it better here, maybe just because I like this game as a whole better. I want to upgrade Aloy to take down robodinosaurs. I want to craft and find health so Aloy doesn't get murdered fighting robodinosaurs. Lol.
I'm playing on Normal difficulty. It's been pretty..."normal" in difficulty so far. I'm not a badass at action games. I enjoyed Metak Gear Rising and Dark Souls and Bayonetta, but I'm not a savant at outrageous difficulties in action games (although I'm pretty good at Souls games).
This difficulty has been perfect for me. The smaller conflicts require thought but don't break pacing. You won't die if you're not stupid.
The larger conflicts I've been in required strategy and I've died a couple of times. I spent a good amount of time yesterday scavenging medical resources because I was badly wounded after an unexpected fight.
You need resources to craft ammo. Some enemies have elemental or certain weapon weaknesses, and without the ammo to craft for that, it's going to be much more difficult to take them down. So I've been caught in fights where I had to retreat or pray for mercy because I'm out of the ammo that would make it easier for me to take the beast down.
I imagine that normal difficulty will be good for many people. Luckily theres lots of difficulty settings.
On TR, I said it's similar because it's the closest thing I can approximate what I played yesterday to. There is an open area, obviously horizon has bigger areas than TR. as you explore there are a bunch of floating not distracting icons saying you can gather this herb. You collect various resources to make healing items, build better gear, make different kinds of ammo. You hide in tall grass and can do stealth kills, lure enemies and you use a bow and arrow (and other weapons that are unlike anything in TR) that has a slow mo activation. Climbing is uncharted like, it's more automatic as you don't even have to press X to go from ledge to ledge.
But instead of humans and a few angry wild animals in horizon you fight robots that all have different attacks, patterns, and weaknesses. Also the quest structure is a lot more witcher than TR. also it's not as collect heavy, ROTR has like a million things to collect, like shoot 10 hidden birds and stuff like that; so far there is none of that in horizon.
So it has a TR feel to it but the combat is mostly it's own thing.
Been doing a lot of sidequests.Insane detail. He had to zoom in to see these ants. He has a PS4pro though and people on GAF are discussing it as if this level of detail could be exclusive to the Pro. I don't think so myself:
They don't feel samey like a lot of open world games do, all the ones I've done so far have been different and very fun.
It was mentioned in one of the impressions that that particular user doesn't care whats going on. Let me explain this a bit more from my point of view. So far, the story seems Meh. It's there, but I don't feel like I've been given a huge reason to care unless it leads to some silly twist which from the time i've played I might be able to guess what it is. It may open up more, but its a bit hard for me as a tech guy to get into because I'm sitting saying "wow really that's not how that works"
The dialogue option is really nice, and feels Mass Effect, minus the reactions as in so far if you choose this over that it won't play a major role later. The facial animation looks super odd, as characters tend to jerk a bit around and like one of the other user said they look "dopey"
I'll say this about the intro, it was hard for me to get attached to it because of the animation during chat, and i didn't feel there was much syncing between characters going around like there is after the intro.
Game is massive, and possible the best Graphics i've seen to date. Didn't think something could top Uncharted 4, and this might have, thats taking into account that it's also an open world game. IDK what kind of Wizards Sony keeps hiring but my god.
The crafting System - I Love it. You can do it on the fly, and craft things in the middle of combat. Its quick and easy.
Like others have said, the game drastically needs a lock-on feature, and I feel the running speed should be increased along with dodging because that can become annoying during combat.
It feels like a good Mix of Witcher, Far Cry, Uncharted, and Tomb Raider if I'm honest.
Yeah I'd be shocked if the ants were exclusive to pro, it'd make sense that they were much more detailed though. There's no reason why it would be exclusive to the Pro. It will be there on the PS4 but it won't look quite as detailed until you're very close up. Obviously 4K will allow for that detail to be seen a little further away.
Also another guy says he's confirmed that if you leave loot for a while there's a chance other machines will come and pick it up. That's fudgy awesome :o
fudge. The gaf member who was being the most critical, has said that they're now starting to love it as they've got further and the game opens up.Meanwhile I'm beginning to worry this will be a repeat of our Order 1886 pre-release thread.
I'm beginning to believe
Meanwhile I'm beginning to worry this will be a repeat of our Order 1886 pre-release thread.Well in this case we have lots of people playing loads of hours, while with the order it was only a couple of people and they didn't play for long.
Remember those GAF early impressions saying the opening outclassed TLOU's opening? Hahaha we were duped.
Holy shame this game opens up! The first area is stupid shame, like a different game. So much to do, so many things to discover. I have to sleep, impressions tomorrow.
Game length discussionThat's good. I'm tired of 100 hour long games that are just fetch quests. 50 hours for 100% sounds perfect to me. I'm also impressed with the game's engine. Even back with Killzone, I remember how people thought it was CGI footage, just for it to be the game. Looks like they've raised the bar and put in an insane amount of level of detail. They literally just need to get super computer level lighting/shading and we'd catch up to pre-rendered footage.Spoiler for Hidden:
Man, the short videos they've been releasing recently look amazingYeah its excellent marketing.
Nothing stops my hype train!!!! Everything I keep hearing/seeing is making the wait even worse than the wait for TLOU back in 2013. And that's quite an achievement cause my hype for TLOU was straight up through the roof.I'm trying to resist getting too hyped as I still have a few reservations. That's getting harder though, everything has just been so positive!
Yeah I'm glad it's got a good length to it, but not pushing 100 hour completion time. Ain't got no time for that.
I'm trying to resist getting too hyped as I still have a few reservations. That's getting harder though, everything has just been so positive!Do we know how much of that completion time for finishing is including doing some cauldrons? If those are as big as most are saying those hopefully add a decent bit of time to the game.
I'm sort of torn on the game time. I most often prefer to play shorter games but if I absolutely love it I want to have as much content to play as possible. Well, I can just replay it on a harder difficulty if I want more.
Do we know how much of that completion time for finishing is including doing some cauldrons? If those are as big as most are saying those hopefully add a decent bit of time to the game.We have no idea unfortunately. So in reality we don't really know how long it will take to 100%. Its pretty much guaranteed to be 40+ hours no matter your play style but there isn't any upper limit yet. That being said, I'd be surprised if it will take more than about 80 hours to complete fully.

I honestly think I will hit 100+ hours though with like 30 to 40 of that being just being in awe of the graphics and exploring the environmentsHmm I may end up being the same ;D
I'm trying to resist getting too hyped as I still have a few reservations. That's getting harder though, everything has just been so positive!I'm in a similar boat. I like short linear games but when it's a huge RPG, it's gotta be huge!

Some guy on gaf was complaining about the graphics because he had no idea how fog works in real life.lol my immediate reaction is "to be fair, games often use fog as a performance cheat" but lately I've been giving these posters too much credit.
Some guy on gaf was complaining about the graphics because he had no idea how fog works in real life.He was being an idiot.
lol my immediate reaction is "to be fair, games often use fog as a performance cheat" but lately I've been giving these posters too much credit.Nah he literally made a comment about how real fog doesn't "disappear" when you get close.
"I literally spent 30 hours looking at ants."This will most definitely be me. 8)
-why it took me so long to finish.
Game looks amazing. What about mass effect?
I'll get it later in the future.
The next few months will be tough on my wallet and time gaming wise so gotta deal with that first :O
What about mass effect?I'm still playing Mass Effect 3 (finally got it with all of its DLC XD).
Hmm I hope that's the most negative reviews will get. Does that site count on meta?Videogamer counts, yes. The review sounds like a 7.5-8 to me (though I'm not sure if they give .5 scores). Not sure if it's worth mentioning but Videogamer do tend to review a little lower than the average (2.3 points lower on average on metacritic), they gave Uncharted 4 an 8 for instance, which was actually one of the lower reviews for that game.
Hmm I hope that's the most negative reviews will get. Does that site count on meta?Videogamer tends to just be very honest with their reviews and go with whatever the reviewer felt.
Well I saw Horizon being sold here today :DAre you playing it now?
Street date broke in Brasil.
Are you playing it now?Nope :(
My amazon order is getting tracking ready. It shows a track order button now, but still won't ship till the 24th.I hope you get it early!
I hope you get it early!I hope too!! I think I could possibly get it the 27th if it ships the 24th. But I have never been lucky with amazon to get games early.
Then again I would also die of jealousy
I hope too!! I think I could possibly get it the 27th if it ships the 24th. But I have never been lucky with amazon to get games early.Yeah Amazon don't really do that. My track record with pre orders on amazon is all on release day and one a day late. I got an 83p refund for the late one ;D
Yeah Amazon don't really do that. My track record with pre orders on amazon is all on release day and one a day late. I got an 83p refund for the late one ;DFor Honor arrived a day late and they said too bad to us :P
For Honor arrived a day late and they said too bad to us :PThat sucks :(
Two guys on GAF who are getting towards the end of the game both say its going to take them over 50 hoursPerfect.
Perfect.Yeah I don't think anyone would consider 50+ hours a low play time. If its below 50, some might argue that its a short time but its looking like Horizon will do fine. And if you don't have much time, its possible to complete the main quest in ~30 hours.
I'd prefer quality over quantity any day. But more of something great is always better.
I do feel reviewers. Suddenly consider this to be "low" for an action RPG. Even though based on every thing we know about it it's in line with average length of action RPG's
Yeah this game is fudgy special, don't rush it folks. Over 10 hours with 27 percent basically. He's a reviewer, not under embargo, if you didn't know :D
Speaking of quality:I'm fairly certain that I've seen that dude gush about The Order and/or No Man's Sky before launch on Gaf as well, so take his posts with a grain of salt.

Oh :-\ thanks for the infoI might be misremembering, but being cautious can't harm. We'll only have to wait about 13 more hours for reviews anyways.
I might be misremembering, but being cautious can't harm. We'll only have to wait about 13 more hours for reviews anyways.Yeah pre review impressions are always so wide ranged. Best to ignore them in general imo.

My god I was hunting a herd for resources and I separated a lancehorn from the others without noticing. A stormbird came down to hunt the stray lancehorn and feasted on its resources.NeoGAF - View Single Post - Horizon Zero Dawn Spoiler-free Impressions (for real this time) (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=230617201&postcount=3254)

Oh my :o
Some guy is flipping out about overleveling and apparent "racial pandering".haha was just reading that. I think its safe to assume his opinions are on the game are gonna be the minority.
In other news, I saw a horizon ad on a bus in London today. I'm glad to see that level of marketing, sony are clearly pushing this hardWould it have killed them to put Gravity Rush 2 on the other side of the bus? :'(
Would it have killed them to put Gravity Rush 2 on the other side of the bus? :'(I think it might have done, yes.
I think the launch video has been posted 4 times....But now its been put in the right thread!
Amazon still hasn't shipped my collectors edition. It says shipping soon, but I'm losing hope of getting it monday. That's annoying. I got an email from GAME saying they're packing my order but I have no idea what that means in terms of delivery time

This Is What Horizon Zero Dawn Would Look Like In England (http://www.unilad.co.uk/gaming/this-is-what-horizon-zero-dawn-would-look-like-in-england/)So much potential for DLC/future games in other places.
Some of this art is gorgeous!
I love playstation UK :D
Is the day one patch out yet?Yeah, I think the patch is 1.02 so they made some more changes since the game went gold.
God dang the UK and it's stupid Friday releases... nice thread btw!Friday? This comes out on Wednesday. Still a day late though
God dang the UK and it's stupid Friday releases... nice thread btw! There's 28 days in February!!!
Mine shipped as well, also using post office. Waiting a few hours for it to get here won't be bad since I'm so busy. PS4 on launch day didn't arrive till 8 pm, now that was a hard wait.Yeah my ps4 wasn't as late, but it didn't arrive till like 4 or 5. Sucked cause a couple of my friends got theirs at midnight at gamestop and were playing already.
Friday? This comes out on Wednesday. Still a day late though
There's 28 days in February!!!Holy shame! Blond moment!
Holy shame! Blond moment!Don't worry I did the same thing too. Thought Zelda and Horizon were a week apart.
Now I'm one happy bunny!
HELP! Horizon Let's Plays are all over Youtube.I went to check youtube and saw three videos called horizon zero dawn part 1 in my recommended videos bit ;D
HELP! Horizon Let's Plays are all over Youtube.Just cancel your Internet service. Problem solved :P
Currently 121k viewers on twitch. Not bad!That's... A LOT of Twitch viewers. Even tournaments for most popular e-sport games are hard pressed to get that many.
That's... A LOT of Twitch viewers. Even tournaments for most popular e-sport games are hard pressed to get that many.Meanwhile LoL gets that many viewers pretty much every day.

Btw. it's up to 145k now.
LoL is a freak of nature.LoL's hot garbage, that's what it is.
Meanwhile LoL gets that many viewers pretty much every day.I don't really know how other games have done when they're just starting on twitch, to compare. I know that most big games have a large spike in their first day then drop off but this seems bigger than normal

I don't really know how other games have done when they're just starting on twitch, to compare. I know that most big games have a large spike in their first day then drop off but this seems bigger than normalYeah, I tried googling if there's something like a list that shows the record highs particular games have achieved on Twitch, but it doesn't seem like that exists.
Got the game. Waiting for it to install. Super hyped.Goddammit -.-
so jelly.. waiting for my return is going to be agrevating af :( im on a complete blackout.. lol :( not even reading reviews..I kind of wish I went on a blackout. There's a lot of cool things that would have surprised me that I know are coming now
>:( Mine hasn't shipped yet. If by the time I'm awake on launch day I've not been told its out for delivery I'll just buy it digitally and own it twiceAnd send the physical copy to me?
And send the physical copy to me?Sure! ;)
So swert!
Already down to 83k viewers on twitch. Didn't think it would last longThe game is technically not even out yet. Only a couple of people were allowed to stream it.
The game is technically not even out yet. Only a couple of people were allowed to stream it.Yes which is why its going to go down. Most people will be watching it instead of playing, so the viewers will have peaked already. Its down to 32k right now, for example, and I doubt it will ever go back up this high again. This happens for all new releases.
I just pre ordered it and it's downloading...3 more hours!

I went to my local electronics/games retailer earlier today hopping that they'd maybe already sell it 2 days early but I had no luck. I'll probably go tomorrow again, one day before launch worked with UC4 so I'm hoping it'll work with this as well.
This game!! Hitting me in the feels already!Ill hit ya in the feels.
Good news! I'm buying this game twice!Don't forget your promise!
I also bought it from Amazon because I wanted their steelbook and I thought why not get the game as well, Amazon might deliver it first!

Regular PS4. And yes, it's the best looking open world game on any platform!
Besides a modded Witcher or GTA V, it's not even close on PC. It's truly a step above. Very much why I scoff at this notion of "underpowered consoles". Even on the Vanilla PS4, there's no non-modded competition.
CGI is singing praises about this game:I'll be bold to say the modded competition doesn't even look as good ;o
fudge this game is so amazing. 5 hours i've play and at 10% completion. Not even seen 1/4 of the map and just got to the point of seeing my first tall neck which was amazing.5 hours myself and almost 12% completion. I too have seen about 20% of the map. Amazing game so far.
Loving the lore in this game too.
fought the first "boss" holly fudge was that intense. thank god i bought an extra gun (the rope one where it pins it, which is awesome) or i would have been iced. im playing on hard, what are you guys playing on?It's cause you're too engrossed; makes it seem like time's going faster.
also lets keep this thread spoiler free please, any pictures, posts or anything revealing please keep it behind a spoiler tag. even if its just a location later in the game.
the game is fun, but its not on the witcher 3's level. but its waaaay to early to judge, i know that lol. hope it keeps getting better with time.
a thing i dislike about the game is that the day and night cycle moves too fast, i would prefer it stays longer. the transition just feels a bit short for me.

Yeah I debated whether to put my pictures in spoilers or not. How about we just get a Horizon screenshot thread, so that way people can go in at their own risk or just wait till they complete the game to post and look at pictures. If we continue posting them in here I'll put them all in spoiler tags going forward.

I think k you guys are enjoying to more than i am. Im not far into the game. Just past the gate.I bought the stealth kill as fast as i could. Hide in a bush and whistle them over
They eyes are killing me.
I bought the stealth kill as fast as i could. Hide in a bush and whistle them overNot that. Lol. All the eyes on the mpc and aloy look dead. Really off.
Not that. Lol. All the eyes on the mpc and aloy look dead. Really off.I felt Aloy was fine in the bit that I played, but the NPCs in general are ugly :/
Not that. Lol. All the eyes on the mpc and aloy look dead. Really off.I feel that Aloy and Rost are ok. But yeah the farther I get in the game the worse they seem to get. Doesn't bother me though. have had some instances where lip syncing was off a little.
Not that. Lol. All the eyes on the mpc and aloy look dead. Really off. That's where uncharted is king
I think k you guys are enjoying to more than i am. Im not far into the game. Just past the gate. You are wrong Tacos. /S. There's a reddit thread about how amazing her eyes are.

fudge me I love this gameYou people and your weird requests.
Does anyone else feel the supposed bad human AI was way overblown? Sure they aren't super amazing, but they don't seem that bad at all. And sometimes they are fudgy hard if you don't take your time and stealth a bunch.Yeah I really don't think they're bad. They're not the best human AI ever but I think they're actually pretty good.
fudge!! Just did my first cauldron! Holy shame that was epic. The scope of this world is so massive. I can imagine why it too so long to develop this game.I just did it too, it was pretty awesome. I didn't expect a shell walker to be quite so difficult! ;D
I just did it too, it was pretty awesome. I didn't expect a shell walker to be quite so difficult! ;Ddang I must have missed where the side quest was.
The side quest near the entrance was really good too
Just fought a Stormbird and I was EXTREMELY underleveled but the kill was oh so worth it.Yeah its amazing how you can come across what would be an epic boss fight in another game just be wondering around. I just fought a snapmaw for the first time and also attracted the attention of 3 scrappers and 4 watchers, that was an extremely intense fight!
I used up pretty much all my supplies and fought it for a good 10-15 minutes lol. And that's just a random enemy in the game you can encounter...Crazy.
Yeah its amazing how you can come across what would be an epic boss fight in another game just be wondering around. I just fought a snapmaw for the first time and also attracted the attention of 3 sawtooths and 4 watchers, that was an extremely intense fight!Have you been to the canyon desert like area? Or is that the area the game is telling you to go? I believe you're at the part where you have to defeat that big spinning monster that has multiple arms and then right after they open the big gate...Me personally I did 1-2 side quests right inside that place and after that I went into the new area where it looks like a desert/canyon. Right after that is actually where I fought that stormbird I was talking about.
So I'm in the second area now and the main quest is telling me to go half the map away, I'm not sure whether to go there first or just meander there and see if things pop up along the way... what have you guys done?
Oh I also have to commend Guerilla on not putting Microtransactions in this...I've just got to the canyon area after killing that and getting through the gate. I've just gone to the second cauldron now
Do you guys know how EASY it would have been for them to do that with those reward box things? I was just opening up a bunch of em and I'm like what the hell why did they not make these available for real money? It would have been such a simple cash grab but they chose not to do it. Very happy to see that, although maybe it's something coming in the future?

The combat is amazing ^^I love the sarcasm. They ran the risk of having it feel forced or cringy but it works do well with her personality.
Normally in open world games I avoid combat as much as possible, because its usually either boring or bad. In horizon though if a machine starts detecting me I'm like "oh yeah let's do this, baby" ;D its just so fudgy fun.
I also completely love Aloy. She's so funny and makes lots of sarcastic comments. GG have truly made a new playstation icon.
Outstanding. Just, outsanding.
I can't wait to fight a thunderjaw
New machines I just encountered and wow I was not ready for those. LOL. So many came at me at once. I was running away like a baby. Only figured the out weakness of one of them so far. Have not tried to take on the other one.Which ones did you just find?
I love the sarcasm. They ran the risk of having it feel forced or cringy but it works do well with her personality. It does work so well! Aloy has made me laugh so many times already, she's the kind of person I'd love to be friends with irl. God dang, I can't believe GG did it. Guys, let's be careful about what we talk about in here and understand that right now we have people who might not be where you are yet. Blurting out what to expect in the first cauldron or talking about an enemy people might not have seen yet is a little spoilery. Story isn't the only thing you can ruin for someone. I think we can give it at least a week before we start talking details. At the very least, either spoiler tag your responses or make a thread dedicated to it that has a spoiler warning.Like seriously. I'm just having to buzz past posts from people who're farther along than me.
How do I stop playing this game? Can anyone help? How do you see play time?
I've been saying "last ten minutes" to myself for about 5 hours now.
10 hours and 32 minutes play time in the just under 12 hours I've had this game. Oops ;D

loving it so far. spent a few hours exploring that area after geting my fire arrows.

After today I'm not gonna be playing as much most likely. Gotta step my shame up and really work on job applications and getting some new and amazing stuff into my portfolio. Probably will try and play for a few hours at night before I go to bed. If I can find some free time during the day I'll play, but definitely can't do 5 or more hours straight.Spoiler for Hidden:
I'm loving the create job feature for when you want to buy an item but don't have all the supplies.Yeah this is really great. I managed to quickly get the shadow hunter bow doing that.
It creates a mini mission for you and tells you where to go to unlock a certain part to buy that item. Hoping more open world games implement something like this in the future.

fudge this game is amazing.Outside of me spoiling some enemies in a cauldron(which is my bad), there isn't really much else I can see that's spoiling now at least. I'm gonna try and be as vague as possible and just use spoiler tags. Unless I decide to make a spoiler thread where we can go and talk about the game without spoiler tags. Maybe I'll give it a week or so and make one so hopefully the majority of us are far enough along to talk about it in a spoiler thread. Anything massive story related should always be spoiler tagged and labeled story related though no matter what until the game has been out for a long time.
You guys are way ahead of me, and might be posting spoilers for me :P but no worries :)
Fought the second boss and holly fudge ballz (yes that's ballz with a Z, it's that good).
This games gameplay is amazing btw, it's really deep and the skills just keep adding to it.
Platforming isn't as strong as uncharted or assassin's creed though, so I hope they improve that with the next game

Guys I haven't managed to figure this out yet but, how can I change the time of day IRL?fap, you will fall asleep after. then wake up at night time.
I want it to be night time so I can go home and play this. Please help
I'm just wandering, hunting things. I haven't seen any of these creatures you've spoken of ;oWhat area are you in?
Aaah, I need to get back to the story.Have you gotten a bellowback heart yet? I need it for a weapon or armor I think to buy it, but I swear they don't drop that shame...I've killed quite a few lol.
But hey I just went and fought some bellowbacks, I think I wasn't supposed to do that yet, shame was hard. :D
What area are you in?The beginning. I just did the hunt with Rost after getting the line launcher thingy. The hunt at night. I still haven't done the trial yet.

I love like 4-5 of the rope explosive traps and luring them to run into it. It's so satisfying seeing it all explode, killing it in one hit and then it does the thing where it drops to its death but keeps dragging on the ground due to the momentum from running.
fudge I WANT TO PLAY RIGHT NOW WHY AM I AT WORK
I went to the top of a mountain in search of something. It was a snowstorm so I couldn't see anything.Same here. Only time I've used photo mode was to show off glitches, never to show off the graphics. It helps that it's super easy to get awesome shots in this game.
When the snow cleared, I had a view out over a huge huge area I'd yet to discover. Wow was it cool. Took some photos. This is the first game I've ever used photomode for.
;D ;D ;D I love glitches like thatSpoiler for Hidden:
Lmao
Second thunderjaw down! Oh yeah!I just fought my first Thunderjaw and killed it...But my PS4 didn't save the video -.-
YOOO THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK IS ON SPOTIFY RIGHT NOW YOOOOOOOOOOO WHAAAAAAATOoh I'm gonna check this out
Spotify (https://play.spotify.com/album/5ZAaYcFudS0BtKhWJqeMCH)
The song 'Years of Training" is amazing. highly recommend.
Also check out "Victory"
Ok I'm sorry I'm posting too much lmao
Remember that rumour that the crew that worked on the Resistance live action trailers was shooting another trailer for a Sony exclusive in New Zealand? Guess it was this.Expected. Don't know why some people thought it was someone else's game.
Wow I just absolutely wrecked a thunderjaw. If you get one on its own its insanely easy to kill :o
Use Tear blast arrows to shoot off both of it's guns, then use it's two guns to kill it. Works pretty much every time.Yep. Easy peasy. You might want to spoiler tag that though. Also I'd say
So Cauldron XI is amazing. Won't say why, but it's good to know that there is a good amount of variation in the cauldrons.Agreed! I thought the same when I did it
im still slow getting going. just made it to mothers crown. but im almost level 16 lolDude you need to get to the main area of the map, there's so many more interesting machines to fight!
i like taking out grazers by the flock.. lol get high above them and shoot fire arrows at 3 of them. then boom lol
my starting bow is pretty sweet now that ive added 2 modifyers that greatly increase fire damage.
still frustrated now getting a bellowback heart yet lol i feel like ill be hunting them a while.
Dude you need to get to the main area of the map, there's so many more interesting machines to fight!lol im doing it slow n steady. i wanna do all the side quests at the same time cause i know i wanna get them done eventually.
I went back to the starting area recently and I thought it was really boring there ;D
lol im doing it slow n steady. i wanna do all the side quests at the same time cause i know i wanna get them done eventually. How many "side quests" have you found in the starting area. I think I only found two, plus a few errands
im still slow getting going. just made it to mothers crown. but im almost level 16 lolHoly shame you are really taking your time haha.

How many "side quests" have you found in the starting area. I think I only found two, plus a few errandsill have to check my logs i cant remember exactly. it may have been 3. i also went into that canyon to the west of the starting area and met a pack of scrappers that got me a +39% fire damage, and one thats 26%.
I wish there was more to talk necks than just scanning them to see new things on your map.I know!! They are so amazing. I even just wish there were more of them. Maybe in a sequel we can get some aggressive ones that we can fight.
They are just so majestic and awe inspiring.
Spoilers for the beginning of the game
I know!! They are so amazing. I even just wish there were more of them. Maybe in a sequel we can get some aggressive ones that we can fight.Yeah first then I did after scanning one was shoot an arrow at it. I wanted to pick a fight lol. A fight with a tall neck sounds so epic
ill have to check my logs i cant remember exactly. it may have been 3. i also went into that canyon to the west of the starting area and met a pack of scrappers that got me a +39% fire damage, and one thats 26%.Wow that's lucky. I've been all over the West area, beaten all the machines and 39% is almost the best I've seen
Hit 15 hours and just around 29%I think I'm on about 23 hours with around 55%
I'm at 27 hours, 38%. Level 26Think what you might have been able to do on Vizioneck if you weren't playing this!!
I need 2 boar bones to upgrade my resource satchel. Every time I kill a boar i dont get a bone. I could really do with the ability to hold more resources. Any tips?Make a create job quests. Or just buy it from stores
Make a create job quests. Or just buy it from storesWhat do you mean make a create job request?
What do you mean make a create job request? When you select an item or something to make in the craft section you can actually make a quest out of it. It'll lead you to the thing you have to hunt.
This is by FAR the most interesting game story ever. Oh my god this lore is incredibleI don't know much about the story, but I love the lore and worldbuilding. I've read every single document so far. It's super fun figuring out their culture and history.
I don't know much about the story, but I love the lore and worldbuilding. I've read every single document so far. It's super fun figuring out their culture and history.Oh god you're going to love the story.
Just being in the world is great too. Often I find myself walking around instead of running.
Oh god you're going to love the story.I've had a few glitches that "ruined" the magic so I can understand not giving it a perfect score. One time I saw an area of robots reset in front of me, even though I was still in active combat with them. Another time the game forgot to set up the hunters lodge correctly. I was inside it and read a note that was from the future and included me. When I walked up to the main woman the game figured out its mistake and teleported every one around to different positions.
This game is AMAZING. How the fudge is this only 88 on meta? This is one of my favourite games ever!!

I was inside it and read a note that was from the future and included me. When I walked up to the main woman the game figured out its mistake and teleported every one around to different positions.Oh yeah it's definitely not perfect. There's a lot of minor glitches and imperfections but the main core of the game is exceptional. And most of all it's super fun. Games like the last of us an uncharted 2 I would say are almost perfect, but they're nowhere near as fun to play as this is, and that has to count for a lot as well
I feel like the tear blast bow is a bit OP against Thunderjaw...I literally killed it in 30-45 seconds lolYeah it is. The thunderjaw is one of the easiest enemies in the game, kind of disappointing.
I need 2 boar bones to upgrade my resource satchel. Every time I kill a boar i dont get a bone. I could really do with the ability to hold more resources. Any tips?yesterday i needed a racooskin for my sharpshooter satchel, what i ended up doing was finding a wooded area with less machines and use the focus. ddo a 360 and tag any you find and slaughter them. it speeds up finding and killing things. and puts a ltle whiye arrow that helps spot them jn deep grass
So for those of you that don't know. Once you finish the final quest it puts you back to just before it and you can replay the final quest as many times as you want. That's really good!
There's no miss-able trophies.
Now for 100% completion and the platinum! I know what I have to do, seems quite easy :D
That's really good!Yeah, you get shame tonnes of XP in that final quest too. I think I leveled up twice, so that's about 80,000 XP
lol i like that in taking my time. cleared out a few corruption zones. gonna do a couple mainline missions lolI was planning on taking my time but I found the story so interesting that I just really wanted to find out what happens/ happened in the past
Yeah this is definitly the best open world I've experienced. Every location is so great looking and tells a story.Yup. Honestly the thing that made this the best open world game for me is the combat.
Who the heck would have expected that from the Killzone devs lol.
dang just went to the are that's allllll the way to the left of the world map so I could scale the tsllneck. I did not stay for long but from what I saw that place is dangerous as fudge lmaoHa I did the exact same!
Not making a new killzone was the best idea ever. the team would have been sick of making the same game over and over.naaa. they should just leave killzone behind. its done for. make Horizon 2, and start developing a new IP after it with a small team, while the majority of the studio works on Horizon 3. release Horizon 3 then the new IP.
This has given them a new lease of life. Maybe develope another killzone now and possibly make it semi open world? And their next game after can be Horizon 2 to launch on the ps5. That would be an awesome exclusive to push the ps5 and it would have mega hype after the reception Horizon is getting!
Yeah this is definitly the best open world I've experienced. Every location is so great looking and tells a story.Just imagine what they can do with a sequel, where they do improve the few smalle areas that can still be made better.

I remember I had a really close call with a load of big machines looking for me
Btw. I'm level 23 and I'm not even through the gate that takes you out of the Nora land yet. I do too much side questing. :Dyeah im level 16 or 17 and still i am not out of it yet. though next time i play i am going straight to it to continue the story missions and leave.
Btw. I'm level 23 and I'm not even through the gate that takes you out of the Nora land yet. I do too much side questing. :DI did my usual in an open world of mainly focussing on the main story, but I did more side activities than normal in horizon.
yeah im level 16 or 17 and still i am not out of it yet. though next time i play i am going straight to it to continue the story missions and leave.I think I was around that level when I went to the main area of the map, maybe a little bit over
naaa. they should just leave killzone behind. its done for. make Horizon 2, and start developing a new IP after it with a small team, while the majority of the studio works on Horizon 3. release Horizon 3 then the new IP.That's a valid argument saying they should leave it behind. Imo instead of making Horizon 2 make another new Ip that's a futuristic shooter to replace killzone. And as I said make it semi open world like TLOU.
That's a valid argument saying they should leave it behind. Imo instead of making Horizon 2 make another new Ip that's a futuristic shooter to replace killzone. And as I said make it semi open world like TLOU.No way. fudge shooters, GG have proved they make amazing open world third person games. If they don't go straight onto horizon 2 I'd be sad but I'd hope it's a similar game
And then Horizon 2. I don't want them to milk this ip so imo it should be a ps5 title.
How would Horizon 2 work? So much of the joy of this game is discovering how the world works and what happened in the past. Sequel can't have that again.Melee combat like I said. Other ideas I have but are a bit spoilery.
Not making a new killzone was the best idea ever. the team would have been sick of making the same game over and over.In theory, Guerrilla rotating between Killzone and Horizon would be a good idea. However, it only works effectively if both IPs are really good, like Uncharted and The Last of Us from Naughty Dog. Killzone is not at that level.

In theory, Guerrilla rotating between Killzone and Horizon would be a good idea. However, it only works effectively if both IPs are really good, like Uncharted and The Last of Us from Naughty Dog. Killzone is not at that level.Maybe they can take what they learned from Horizon and make Killzone that level?
They still have that unanswered question as to what happened at the end of Killzone 3...Did you play and beat Shadow Fall? Because if you're referring to what I think you're referring to, that question was answered at the end of Shadow Fall.
In theory, Guerrilla rotating between Killzone and Horizon would be a good idea. However, it only works effectively if both IPs are really good, like Uncharted and The Last of Us from Naughty Dog. Killzone is not at that level.Three things hurt Killzone: Shadow Fall. Bad writing, rushed campaign design (launch title), and subpar multiplayer by current standards. Guerrilla has now seen first hand just how important a good writer is for the story. Not that they didn't know that before, but rather, that they have seen the difference between the kind of people they had writing for them before Horizon and now after. They also have more than enough examples of successful multiplayer formulas to pick and choose from. Giving something your own design is nice, but not when it clearly sacrifices fun to be different and Shadow Fall's felt like a watered down version of the multiplayer from its previous two games. Shadow Fall's campaign lacked a lot of the neat gameplay moments found in Killzone 2 and Killzone 3. Not the least of which was a significant lack of vehicle segments and "check out this awesome gun" moments. I actually would have a lot of faith in Guerrilla to make another Killzone and have it be awesome this time. I just don't think they're going to, though. Horizon is now their new baby and they seem like they're really thrilled about it.
Spoilers for a side mission you can get from the Ruins in the beginning area.I don't remember where I picked up #2. Spoilers for the next section of that mission.Spoiler for Hidden:
Did you play and beat Shadow Fall? Because if you're referring to what I think you're referring to, that question was answered at the end of Shadow Fall.I was talking about this -
Spoilers for a side mission you can get from the Ruins in the beginning area.I looked up the locations. They're in random places on the map, you'd be super lucky to find them all on your own. There's two in the Nora area at the start and 3 in story mission zones later in the game.Spoiler for Hidden:
How would Horizon 2 work? So much of the joy of this game is discovering how the world works and what happened in the past. Sequel can't have that again.Leaving the lands we currently know and going to a new place would be a start. There is a shame load of lost history between the events from long ago and where we are today. There could be plenty to discover. Other stories to be told. The ancient history is not the only interesting and even mystifying story that you could tell. The refinement of what exists in this game could easily make up for the lack of wonder, too.
I was talking about this -Yes. The ending of Killzone 3 was answered at the end of Shadow Fall.
I tried to play Shadow Fall but I just couldn't get into it...If they did answer as to who that was in shadow fall I'll have to google it.
Guys do all the Hunter Lodge for some cool BIS weapons....
I'm around 30 hours in lv 43. I feel like I've done too much side stuff lmao. Still like halfway through the story I'm guessing and almost max level.
Spoilers for a machine type.Spoiler for Hidden:
Alright I'll have to scan it's body before going into it.Spoiler for Hidden:

Just realized I have 13000 metal shards lmao....Yep that's my favourite side quest in the game. Very interesting story, well built characters and a great, hard fight at the end
Going through the hunters lodge side quest and I gotta say it's really well done. It's not just a one part quest where you do something and boom it's over. I think I've been spending at least an hour on a side quest lol. The story is pretty well told as well
Yeah the mounts are really well implemented. I love that chargers knock over small trees.I'm almost there. I'm level 37 and 60% completed. So far not really sure what you're loving about the story lol.
I can't wait for one of you guys to finish the main quest so I can talk to you about it!
I'm almost there. I'm level 37 and 60% completed. So far not really sure what you're loving about the story lol. What part are you up to?
What part are you up to?Don't tell me how much I have left:
Don't tell me how much I have left:That's my next mission. The mission before is where I got really intrigued because you learn so muchSpoiler for Hidden:
Also I have a glitched side quest that won't end. It's the one about the stolen spear. Don't think there's a way to fix it. My quest log includes a bunch of empty space and talking to Raven doesn't check it off.
Don't tell me how much I have left:Huh, does the intrigue of past events not interest you? I was completely hooked by that point.Spoiler for Hidden:

level 29. havent touched the story in a while lol got all the tallnecks done and the cauldrons. im having to much fun finishing all the extra stff on the maps lolSame... I played for a good 4-5 hours and didn't touch the main story mission.
Wow, there's a decent difficulty spike after leaving the Nora land, one of the first things I found was one of the big birds, shame was tough.I did it arsenal ways. I went straight to meridian asap and skipped loads of Nora stuff back home. I was out of my depth in the meridian landscape. Did a few things but headed back to do loads of the Nora stuff I missed which I'm really enjoying. This game is so good!
I still haven't reached Meridian, after playing another couple hours, but the game tells me I have 34% completion. I really need to get back to the story, lol.
Btw. the main thing I'd like to see improved in a sequel are the RPG systems. Leveling up is kinda unsatisfying and the skill tree is a little too straight forward for me as well.
In theory, Guerrilla rotating between Killzone and Horizon would be a good idea. However, it only works effectively if both IPs are really good, like Uncharted and The Last of Us from Naughty Dog. Killzone is not at that level.Which is why I suggested a new shooter ip instead of killzone
Huh, does the intrigue of past events not interest you? I was completely hooked by that point.I really love learning the lore and backstory but I've read every single text document so far and more or less already knew how the "end" came about.
It was a bit before that for me.
Its such a great backstory though isn't it :o
im level 33 right now, after 25hours. 1 corrupted zone left, the highest level one. 40 something completion. Ive got alot of quests and side quests to do lolSpoiler for Hidden:
What are people's favourite machines? I have a favourite but its not one which they showed in any media so I'm going to spoiler tag it:so far mine would be the stormbird. holly fudgy shame fudge. i left the land of the nora for the first time and decided to go explore, i found one and it quickly tore me a new bumb lol. then i went on an epic battle against it, i think it took me at least 15 minutes. it was one of the most epic battles i ever had. almost all my health resources at the end were depleted, and i went through a huge chunk of my weapons/ammo resources as well. all at the for some fudgy AI hunters to come and kill it for me when it had very little health and i took down so much armor off of it. but it was an epic battle. loved it.Spoiler for Hidden:
Which is why I suggested a new shooter ip instead of killzoneUse favor resolution!
________________________________________________
So I'm a ps4 pro owner with a 1080p screen. I've got two graphical options I can select.
"Favor performance" and "Favor Resolution".
So favor performance apparently locks the frame rate pretty perfectly with enhanced graphical features. But the frame rate isn't a big deal because even when rendered at 4k it's pretty stable. So the only advantage really is the enhanced graphical features. What exactly does it enhance?
Now favor resolution keeps the SSAA which the other mode does not. How much of a benefit is SSAA?
Basically I see this as a SSAA vs Graphical enhancements. I just don't know which is better. Any advice is much appreciated!
By the way, the post-credits scene not only had me in tears (just a little) but it's also an ominous setup for a sequel. The post credits scene had you in tears? Do you not mean the pre credits scene? If so, I agree. It was beautiful, fantastic writing.
The post credits scene had you in tears? Do you not mean the pre credits scene? If so, I agree. It was beautiful, fantastic writing. It was 3 in the morning for me when I beat it. Couldn't remember if those two scenes happened back to back or one happened pre and the other post. Either way, sounds like you know what I meant.
The post credits scene is an ominous sequel setup though yeah. I'm not sure I like it being there, or at least they could have perhaps done it a bit better.
It was 3 in the morning for me when I beat it. Couldn't remember if those two scenes happened back to back or one happened pre and the other post. Either way, sounds like you know what I meant.Yeah I just wanted to make sure :P
Yeah I just wanted to make sure :PSpoiler for Hidden:
Holy fudge. Combat is intense from the get go. You really feel like you have to use strategy to kill machinesYup I absolutely love the combat. It's awesome breaking off parts from the larger machines.
Yup I absolutely love the combat. It's awesome breaking off parts from the larger machines.Breaking off components its so incredibly satisfying. Its the most satisfying combat in a video game ever, for me. Nothing beats stripping a machine bare and leaving it with just its body, and after being this incredible fighting beast all it can do is charge and melee you :D
Also it's crazy how destructable everything is. The world feels super solid and then a machine just breaks through.
Btw the game has 3d bees flying around. Crazy
I'm seriously addicted to this game. Holly hell am i loving the gameplay. It's utterly fantastic. 21:45 hours in this game so far, and I have SO much left to do and explore.Where did you guys find a playtime counter? I haven't found one yet.
Where did you guys find a playtime counter? I haven't found one yet. When you go to do a manual save at a campfire it will have it on the info.
When you go to do a manual save at a campfire it will have it on the info.Ah ok, yeah I haven't manually saved in this game yet.
Ah ok, yeah I haven't manually saved in this game yet.Just press load game, and it will show you on your file.
I don't know how xev finished his play through at 27~ hours lol. I'm completely going to obliterate that lol. Maybe because I barely use fast travel and prefer to travel on foot when exploring a new location. But still.... This game is going to take me at least 50 hours based on how things are going lolI don't spend any time just wondering around with no aim. That applies to any game ever. I'm always doing something. Be it a side quest or main quest, finding a collectible etc.
^that reminds me has anyone gotten up close to the fireflies in photomode? I assume if the bees are models then the fireflies are.Nah they are just lights.
Nah they are just lights.well shame!! that sucks
Just went back to Uncharted 4 for a bit. There is some weird stuff though in Horizon. It's got better highs but also lower lows.
This game definitely looks better. God dang
There is some weird stuff though in Horizon. It's got better highs but also lower lows.Yeah that's true. I've never seen an open world game where this doesn't happen though. Its pretty much unavoidable.
Like hair flickering, objects disappearing in cutscenes just before the camera changes.
Yeah that's true. I've never seen an open world game where this doesn't happen though. Its pretty much unavoidable.Indubitably. But it's amazing how good it looks considering it's open world!
Terrible screenshot (lol) but anyway, there it is:What was your last trophy?
Plat achieved after 38 hours and 52 minutes game time.
What a wonderful journey! Still over 10% of the game left to complete though.
^^ yeah just press load game and you can see your playtime straight away.this is a spoiler free rant, for anybody who is interested lol.
I don't spend any time just wondering around with no aim. That applies to any game ever. I'm always doing something. Be it a side quest or main quest, finding a collectible etc.
So I levelled up quickly and mainly focused on the main story. I think I finished on about 8 side quests and 5 errands completed, I had barely any collectibles and had only done 2 hunting lodges. I'm doing all that after finishing the story.
I'm up to 35 hours now, with doing side content after the game but I think it'll only take me about 5 more hours to get the plat. After that though I'll finish up all the quests and it might take me past 45 hours
What was your last trophy? It was all allies joined. I missed that the first time I played the final mission, so I finished everything else up and then started the final mission again for that trophy.
I'm at 55 hours and I keep getting distracted exploring the world.
Hotfix just released reducing thunderjaw disc launcher ammo from 12 to 8. So effectively you can deal ~2000 damage less with their disc launchers now. That's good. I think they shouldn't make it so it drops 100% of the time to be honest...Like maybe sometimes you damage it too much and it breaks or something. The Thunderjaw is just too easy to kill..
That should make thunderjaws a bit more challenging
That's good. I think they shouldn't make it so it drops 100% of the time to be honest...Like maybe sometimes you damage it too much and it breaks or something. The Thunderjaw is just too easy to kill..Yeah, freezing is very OP. I just tried fighting it without tearblast arrows, with the hotfix and it was actually a decent challenge.
If you apply freeze to it which increases damage, the Disc Launcher just melts right threw it.
Ordered from Amazon.Yay!
Bought it this morning. Was debating buying this and Zelda at Target and getting a free third game, but I decided against buying two open world SP games. I'll beat Horizon and trade it in towards Zelda. Horizon seems to be the shorter game so I went Horizon first.I feel like they legit forgot to shrink her head. I find it hard to believe the devs saw it in the final game and thought yeah her head looks fine.
Very impressed so far. Opening section was great. I've done a couple main missions and one side quest helping some girl get a spear back. Only have one observation and a complaint so far. First, holy crud Aloys head as a kid is like monstrously huge. It is jarring. Looks way more natural as older Aloy. The complaint, NPCs and Aloy won't shut the heck up. Aloy talks constantly, which is fine but only a few hours in I'm already hearing the same stuff again and again. And that side mission where I helped a girl she screamed over and over while I'm trying to kill 4 watchers. Hopefully that gets better.
Seems there is tons of potential for a great story and lore here though.
I'm already hearing the same stuff again and againFor NPCs? That was one of the things I was really impressed with them avoiding. I didn't try talking to every single person but I was 20 hours in before I heard a repeat.
Man, I remember I thought watchers were hard at first :oHaha yeah I was the same. Still haven't killed all the machines but most are fairly easy after a while and you learn all their weak spots.
Now they're a breeze
Man, I remember I thought watchers were hard at first :oIts funny to think back to my first few encounters when I was super scared of Striders and Watchers ;D
Now they're a breeze
I feel like they legit forgot to shrink her head. I find it hard to believe the devs saw it in the final game and thought yeah her head looks fine.Wasn't it partly due to her hair being big? Children do have bigger heads proportionally than adults
The proportions are very off lol. Thankfully you don't play young Aloy for that long.
i find im having a very hard time finding any likeable male NPC's. they just all have the baby quality where i find them all annoying as heck lolHow far are you? I've liked a few of them.
i find im having a very hard time finding any likeable male NPC's. they just all have the baby quality where i find them all annoying as heck lolI think the game's designed in a way where a lot of the male NPCs don't like Aloy.
Have people forgotten this is the general horizon thread?I'm going back through watching trailers. I thought this one was horrible lol.
I love this trailer, great showing of the world they've created
I'm going back through watching trailers. I thought this one was horrible lol.Horrible? Its weird but I don't see how you can say its horrible
It's actually interesting, but in terms of trailers or gameplay videos I don't think Horizon never topped its reveal.I agree with this. Its initial reveal was exceptional
Horrible? Its weird but I don't see how you can say its horribleYes horrible. The dancing is so stupid and the gameplay itself looks odd with those quick smooth fades. Uncharted 4 trailer did similar and I didn't like it either.

That was the launch trailer. It wasn't used for advertising? No. They had a tv spot trailer.
Anyone interested in a spoiler thread for people who've finished it? Was thinking about posting here but that'd be risky imo for very end game stuff.I'd like one!
I feel like they legit forgot to shrink her head. I find it hard to believe the devs saw it in the final game and thought yeah her head looks fine.I thought her head was fine. Kids often have big heads when their body is small.

And Legend make a spoiler thread please!
I did!Is the thread being in a spoiler tag the reason I can't see it? ::)
Is the thread being in a spoiler tag the reason I can't see it? ::)9th from the bottom.
On another note, I'm literally stuck in between a Thunderjaw and a Fire Bellowback. I'm probably going to take over the Thunderjaw and have it fight the Bellowback for me. Then kill the weakened Thunderjaw and take his stuff 8)
Thank you. This game saved me. : horizon (https://www.reddit.com/r/horizon/comments/5ydce2/thank_you_this_game_saved_me/)That's pretty great!
I'm liking the game world and the lore, it's very cool. Combat is a bore though, its way too easy. I was expecting encounters to be something like Big Daddy enemies in Bioshock, intimidating and requiring planning and strategy. Maybe these enemies come later?I guess it depends your level and how much shock wire you have.
Man, bellowbacks are toughuse a sharpshooter bow with strong tear damage and attack its back or its front bellows. both can explode after enough dmg to them is done. if you spam them with fire arrows until the meter fills up they will spend a second reacting to catching fire, which gives a good chance to aim for those weak spots

In the beginning the only real big enemy you face is the ravager, the one you fight at night with Rost. Once you enter Meridian is where I felt like the difficulty ramped up to an 11.
Man, bellowbacks are toughTough, but oh so satisfying to blow up their sacks....The explosive effect when there are enemies nearby it is so awesome.
Where are you exactly in the game? In the beginning the only real big enemy you face is the ravager, the one you fight at night with Rost. Once you enter Meridian is where I felt like the difficulty ramped up to an 11.That was a sawtooth not a Ravager, so even easier ;D
Some of the corruption zones are ridiculously tough.
That was a sawtooth not a Ravager, so even easier ;DYeah you're right. Right before I entered Meridian I was thinking the game was pretty smooth going, then a storm bird was the first enemy I encountered and I swear it took me a good 10 minutes to kill it...Used up all my supplies too.
Yeah the difficulty goes up smoothly until you cross the border and then BAM the game hits you :D
Yeah you're right. Right before I entered Meridian I was thinking the game was pretty smooth going, then a storm bird was the first enemy I encountered and I swear it took me a good 10 minutes to kill it...Used up all my supplies too.Thats why I actively avoid stormbirds at all cost. They just take up too many resources to down even with great gear.
Thats why I actively avoid stormbirds at all cost. They just take up too many resources to down even with great gear.Yeah I don't really like fighting stormbirds. They're the hardest enemy in the game for a reason. That's not an easy 'cheat' strategy against them like other machines. Fights with them often just turn into shooting lots of arrows
I feel like I hit a glitch with the ancient vessel collectables. I have a whole set of 4, but for some reason when I go to trade them with a merchant it says I have them all but the little x1 is in red meaning it's not in my inventory. I don't believe you can sell them or drop them so I'm not sure what happened.
Yeah I don't really like fighting stormbirds. They're the hardest enemy in the game for a reason. That's not an easy 'cheat' strategy against them like other machines. Fights with them often just turn into shooting lots of arrowsyeah I got some of the rewards for the other ones and didn't like them. But it was odd cause i don't know where the collectable went in my inventory.
Well its not like you're missing much anyway. The rewards for the collectibles are terrible.

Not bad! I've killed about 100 watchers. So 1.5M sales confirmed!I probably killed around 20 Thunderjaws, so 70k sales confirmed :(
Actually that doesn't sound too far off
I probably killed around 20 Thunderjaws, so 70k sales confirmed :(You can check in the game stats page.
You can check in the game stats page.Because they're extremely easy and give great loot, probably.
Why are you killing so many!?
You can check in the game stats page.I farmed them a couple times for their loot.
Why are you killing so many!?
Wow your glint hawk to watcher ratio is so different to mine! I've killed almost as many glint hawks as watchers, they're all over the place!Spoiler for Hidden:
Some of my machine kills stats. Put in spoilers just in case someone doesn't know about 1 of more of the machines I listed.

i took some really great shots of this game using photo mode. how can i share them on this site?http://imgur.com/ (http://imgur.com/) is what I use. Upload to them and then copy the image to your post.
also i dont play with anything other than time of day and camera. so the graphics are "pure", they are exactly how the game looks
Think I got to the point where the game starts to open up.Spoiler for Hidden:
Don't think I can play till Tuesday though. :P

Finished the game earlier and am only missing one trophy for the platinum, so I'm doing that now. Agree with what Xevross (I believe) said earlier in the thread, human combat is definitely the weakest part of the game, so much that can and imo has to be improved for a sequel.I was doing the revenge mission and before I went out I was just killing people underneath a platform (A.I. wouldn't go down to chase me). It was hell. I'd kill 10, 10 just magically spawned.
up to around 62% now, 16 side quests done and 11 mainline quests, and a whole bunch of errands. Im a little tempted to get back onto the main story for a bit, as i think ive done all the side quests i can for now.. except the armor and hunters lodge weapons.I will say I think you have done most of the side missions. I've done 18, but I'm not sure if there are more that I just haven't came across. You still have quite a bit of story missions left.
I had a blast doing the side quests so far, and laughed alot when i created an akward situation in the middle of a quest when i used override on a machine that i was surprised it would let meSpoiler for Hidden:
lol finally finishing off the makers end quest,Uhh maybe you didn't hear it correctly?Spoiler for Hidden:

ya years woulda been badass.. but then also the wildlife would have to be much different.Spoiler for Hidden:
so can you get new types of weapons by doing those hunter missions? i dont bother with those missions at all honestly. The trials? Yeah, you get some pretty good weapon do them all and get blazing suns in each.
The trials? Yeah, you get some pretty good weapon do them all and get blazing suns in each.guess ill have to do them. i never usually touch these types of side quests. but ehhh... im loving customizing and trying new weapons, so ill give it a shot.
guess ill have to do them. i never usually touch these types of side quests. but ehhh... im loving customizing and trying new weapons, so ill give it a shot.If you use a guide, it probably won't take you long to get all the blazing suns.
If you use a guide, it probably won't take you long to get all the blazing suns.thats no fun....
thats no fun....Sure, but if you don't know how to do a certain challenge fast after a couple tries it might save you some headaches.
guess ill have to do them. i never usually touch these types of side quests. but ehhh... im loving customizing and trying new weapons, so ill give it a shot. The weapons aren't amazing though. They're only slight improvements on their shadow counterparts
The weapons aren't amazing though. They're only slight improvements on their shadow counterpartsYeah i figured. But it's fun finding that perfect balance
GOT THE PLATINUM!!Congrats!
Yeah i figured. But it's fun finding that perfect balanceYou also unlock a quest after...Which IMO is a very well done quest line.
Have break next week so you know what that means!Yes! You're buying a Switch to play Zelda.
Is it safe to sell items that only have "Sell to merchants" Stuff like the ancients stuff. Or do I need those for trade ins for weapons and armours? I'm full.THe thing on the right is all it's used for. If it only says sell to merchants, then that is the only use for that item.
i had a dream about Horizon the other day. in it aloy dies in one mission and then the protagonist becomes Jennifer lawrence. i was pissed as fudge, because fudge jennifer lawrence, i hate her whiny dog. That's actually the plot twist in horizon 2
That's actually the plot twist in horizon 2then fudge horizon 2 and fudge jennifer lawrence!
That's actually the plot twist in horizon 2Like, OMG! Spoiler much?!
I Sold everything. Often ran out of stuff for crafting since I just sold it all. Any non purple mod was sold without reading it.Pretty much what I did with the mods too. I didn't sell much else but I usually stay around 10k shards. Now that I have everything I need though i could sell all the machine hearts and lens and stuff.
ENded with 80k shards.
Like, OMG! Spoiler much?!Yeah. Jeez Xev. Ruining these games!!!
I sell everything except the stuff that is used to craft ammo/health potions. Once you've upgraded everything in the crafting section and have bought all the best weapons, there's no point in keeping the other loot you get from killing enemies.Same. Plus you can buy all machine parts in meridian so there's no need to keep any hearts/ lenses
I also sell blue + green modifications because they are not as good as purple.
Same. Plus you can buy all machine parts in meridian so there's no need to keep any hearts/ lensesSHops overcharge for them though.
SHops overcharge for them though. But you have 80k shards though...
SHops overcharge for them though. As dkk said, you get by far enough shards in the game. I like to just keep my inventory clean
But you have 80k shards though...Bernie Sanders was right, the one percent is the worst percent.
But you have 80k shards though...I was hoping there'd be a trophy or something for reaching 100k.
I was hoping there'd be a trophy or something for reaching 100k.Is there? I didn't check the list myself.
Is there? I didn't check the list myself.nope
But you have 80k shards though...you cant be low on shards, if you dont spend shards.
any body got tips for the last hunting ground using the ravanger gun? everytime i try it either takes alot of tearblast to get it off, then when it does come off it i can never even find the dang thingWhy aren't you playing Battlefield?!
Why aren't you playing Battlefield?!i gotta go out in a bit. i would have time for like a game n a half. lol
any body got tips for the last hunting ground using the ravanger gun? everytime i try it either takes alot of tearblast to get it off, then when it does come off it i can never even find the dang thingThat was the easiest hunting ground for me. My bow literally has like 100% more tear because of my mods. Ravager guns take one tearblast arrow and they fall right off.
nvm just got it. i havent enjoyed this hunting ground as much as the first few
im running into the same problem as the last one. when i blast it off i then spend a minute trying to find it then theirs no time to kill the ravagers
edit again. barking about it always seems to make it so i get it eight after..
That was the easiest hunting ground for me. My bow literally has like 100% more tear because of my mods. Ravager guns take one tearblast arrow and they fall right off.i had to re mod my bow for more tear. and then got lucky with where it landed. i tried like 6 times in a row and struggled to find it each time. with a few times it landed next to the thunderjaw
ive got a few more missions left, im at deep secrets of earth or something like that, found a couple more side quests when i got to sunfall. i think ive done all of them lol im at 84percent complete. except i still need to get that secret armorI can't get back into Mother's... whatever it's called to get one of them. I have 3, so I'm missing the first and whatever new one that turns up in the story.
I can't get back into Mother's... whatever it's called to get one of them. I have 3, so I'm missing the first and whatever new one that turns up in the story.Go at night, if you teleport there and its already night youll have to run out of town over the bridge and back in. once you enter the mountain there should be a door/hall to the right.

Ugh I have to wait till night? Who the hell programmed this?I didn't have to go at night. I went during the day. Just fast travel to it then leave the settlement and go just over the bridge and then go back and it should be open. I thought in one of the patch notes for the new patch it said something about it fixing this glitch to keep the door shut, unless I read it wrong. Haven't tried it past the new patch.
i read that you had to go at night so thats what i did and it worked. Ive got 1 more powercell to get and i hear thats unlocked after the 3rd or 4th last quest.Yeah I'm not sure unless it changed after the last patch. But yeah the last power cell is in one of those missions.
But I mean in general. Is there a "real" reason why it's locked? Are you supposed to go back in at a certain part of the game? You will go back in a later mission.
Excellent interview with GG.Any spoilers in there?
How 'Horizon Zero Dawn' Transformed Guerrilla Games - Glixel (http://www.glixel.com/news/how-horizon-zero-dawn-transformed-guerrilla-games-w472564)
Well shame, I just looked up all the side quests and errands and it looks like I've done them all. SO DISAPPOINTING!! I was hoping there would be a few I missed or something.Yeah there isn't that many.
Yeah there isn't that many.yeah i think my stats said 21 main, 21 sides, and like 16 errands. some of the errands were ones i made for resources.
Even though it would have been viewed as boring they could have added a few more basic fetch errands just to give more content for the people that want more.
yeah i think my stats said 21 main, 21 sides, and like 16 errands. some of the errands were ones i made for resources.I didn't think it counted those errands in the stats. Pretty sure I had 15 errands with one missing from the start
I didn't think it counted those errands in the stats. Pretty sure I had 15 errands with one missing from the startMaybe it doesn't then. I just figured it did.
can you get the last power cell before the last quest?Yes but you're not on the final quest.
only have 1 vantage point and the armor trophy left, with the rest story based, which i think i got all the sidequests. i really wanna get the plat at the same time as completing the story lol
can you get the last power cell before the last quest? As long as you have done the quest called

I suck at this game.GIT GUD NEWB!!
Was getting pretty far along. But then I got to an area that I kept dying in.
So I went back. Trying to do quests to level up and stuff.
I suck at this game.Leveling up won't help you against what keeps killing you. The best way to learn is work out their weaknesses and the best way to exploit them.

Leveling up won't help you against what keeps killing you. The best way to learn is work out their weaknesses and the best way to exploit them.Think I'm on normal.
What difficulty are you on?
Think I'm on normal. You're definitely playing the game wrong if you're just shooting enemies with non elemental arrows
New weapons have been by far the best way to make the game easy.
I swear it takes like 100 hits just to take down some of the tougher enemies in the game with the bow I had.
You're definitely playing the game wrong if you're just shooting enemies with non elemental arrowsFire arrows aren't much better. :P
I beat the game with rocks only, you casuals. That's the absolute best way to play, Xev just doesn't understand though.
Fire arrows aren't much better. :PThey are against certain machines though. While others get owned by frost or shock.
I don't believe there's a such thing as playing a game the wrong way.
They are against certain machines though. While others get owned by frost or shock.I know.
Okay fine, playing extremely badly :D
That's the absolute best way to play, Xev just doesn't understand though.Yeah, I always knew Xev wasn't a real gamer.
I know.Tearblast arrows are godlike though when you have like 100% extra tear from modifications. Plus some extra damage too.
I have been using the fire ones whenever I can.
This is the way I want to do it! :D
Fire arrows aren't much better. :PFire arrows don't do damage. But they fill up the fire meter in an enemy, once that's full it does damage. So you can mix up fire arrows and fire bombs or trip wires for example to do fire damage.
I don't believe there's a such thing as playing a game the wrong way.
Fire arrows aren't much better. :Pwhen you shoot a fire arrow, they will have a little flame circle that each subsequent arrow adds to, when it reaches its max the machine will respond to being on fire, which gives you a chance to either move further away, or switch to something with more damage while its doing its little fire dance.
I don't believe there's a such thing as playing a game the wrong way.
Leveling up won't help you against what keeps killing you. The best way to learn is work out their weaknesses and the best way to exploit them.Leveling up helps a lot by adding more health. I played like Pi and just tanked damage cause I was op.
What difficulty are you on?
Leveling up helps a lot by adding more health. I played like Pi and just tanked damage cause I was op.Machines do so much damage though that the health added is pretty negligable.
Never used anything beyond fire arrows and explosion tripcaster for damage.
GIT GUD NEWB!!Yes they are bombs
Also sling with fire bombs are the fudgy bomb!!
Machines do so much damage though that the health added is pretty negligable.STarting health is 200 but max health is 700. That helped a lot for me. Plus upgrading the outfit with better mods.
What so did you not use any shock or frost ammo?
STarting health is 200 but max health is 700. That helped a lot for me. Plus upgrading the outfit with better mods. Why not? You're missing out on most of the combat system :o
NEver used ice, shock, or coruption. Just used the max boltcaster, default bow, mid tripcaster, and tearblaster. Never bought a slingshot or the machine gun like thing.
DIdn't ever use non tripcaster traps either. Just sold those for shards.
STarting health is 200 but max health is 700. That helped a lot for me. Plus upgrading the outfit with better mods.ice is amazingly strong when used right. you do realize it helps increase the damage an enemy receives right? ice em up, then hit em with the rattler. pure satisfaction.

Finished all the hunter trials. Was disappointed with the last one, I figured with it being deeper in the game and with higher level enemies it would be harder but it was incredibly easy. The only hard element was stealth striking watchers because sometimes there would be multiple enemies and the game would hit the wrong robot even when looking right at a watcher. Are these weapons I got for getting all the medals or whatever any good or are the shadow weapons the best?Spoiler for Hidden:
PRetty sure you get that quest regardless. He just isn't there.Spoiler for Hidden:
PRetty sure you get that quest regardless. He just isn't there.Oh really? That's odd. One of my friends was telling me that they didn't get the quest
So how exactly can i get those weapons from the hunter missions?the hunter guild weapons are obtained after getting the top score in all 15 hunting trials. after youve got all 15, you talk to the lady at the desk in the hunters lodge
the hunter guild weapons are obtained after getting the top score in all 15 hunting trials. after youve got all 15, you talk to the lady at the desk in the hunters lodgeI have to do 15.... Seriously....
I have to do 15.... Seriously....they really arent to bad, and give lotsa xp. plus when you get all 3 at a location youll get a skill point
they really arent to bad, and give lotsa xp. plus when you get all 3 at a location youll get a skill pointI got XP blowing out of my dog lol. No need for it at all haha
I have to do 15.... Seriously....Well... they don't take that long.
Well... they don't take that long. What are the weapons exactly? If I know I'll be able to judge of they are worth it or not
The lodge weapons are only a small upgrade anyway. I'd say the trophy is a better reward for the trials than the weapons.
What are the weapons exactly? If I know I'll be able to judge of they are worth it or notThey are a blast sling, war bow and ropecaster. From memory they are small improvements on their shadow counterparts; +5 on the main stats or something like that
They are a blast sling, war bow and ropecaster. From memory they are small improvements on their shadow counterparts; +5 on the main stats or something like thatahhh i thought they were different weapons, like they had different types of arrows, or bombs. or different combinations. extra power doesnt interest me much, since i already feel OP and i am already back in "very difficult" setting.
I have a question for those who finished the gameYou are correctSpoiler for Hidden:
Why the F is the recommended level for the first cauldron only 8 (or was it 10) when it has a bellowback in a tight space with multiple other enemies? Bellowbacks are lvl 18 stuffYeah the cauldron levels make absolutely no sense. Then again levels aren't really important at all. If you're skillful you could quite easily beat the game at level 1
Why the F is the recommended level for the first cauldron only 8 (or was it 10) when it has a bellowback in a tight space with multiple other enemies? Bellowbacks are lvl 18 stuffGit gud
Yeah I'm level 42 and I'm yet to beat the cauldron with the thunderjaw.Thunderjaws are much easier than stormbirds. You'll have the most fun with them going in blind and working out a strategy yourself
I have 3 separate side quests that involve taking down thunderjaws so I should probably do it now.
Any advice on best tactics? The stormbird is probably the hardest enemy I've defeated so far.
Yeah the cauldron levels make absolutely no sense. Then again levels aren't really important at all. If you're skillful you could quite easily beat the game at level 1Hmm anything is possible I guess. But they have lots of health and hurt a lot.
Git gudI did get through it. It was just hard :o

So Horizon sold 2.6m pretty quickly. The game is still going out of stock regularly on many online retailers across the globe. Digital sales and retail legs are surely very strong.4m by the end of April could happen
I've no doubt it's over 3m already but o wonder how quickly it can hit 4m and 5m etc...
4m by the end of April could happen1.4 million in 7 weeks? an average of 200k a week? sounds way to high.
1.4 million in 7 weeks? an average of 200k a week? sounds way to high. Its possible. It certainly has had excellent legs and its still being advertised strongly. I don't think it will reach that but with the way the game's performed so far I'm just saying it could happen

If they were really smart they'd make Horizon the main bundled game with the pro and regular ps4.
Considering the title is regularly going out of stock at different online retailers all over the globe it's probably not that far fetched. If I were Sony, I'd sell a Pro bundled with Horizon for $350.
Looks like it did about 30k in the UK this week and we're looking at 15k in Japan.
Add in all other markets and it could be doing over 200k retail currently and we're well past the launch. Add in digital and it's doing it's well on track to hit 4m probably some time in early may.
Could be wrong of course but I personally think Horizon will cruise to 4m shipped and then sold soon after.
By the end of the year with holiday buyers and the game going on sale for half price I could them doing 6m+. If they were really smart they'd make Horizon the main bundled game with the pro and regular ps4.
Could boost sales to the 9-10m range.
If I were Sony, I'd sell a Pro bundled with Horizon for $350.So I was in Best Buy when the store clerk had asked me for... tree fiddy. I said "why you need tree fiddy for?" Turns out that store clerk was really the Lockness Monster trying to get tree fiddy from me again. I knew something was weird when this store clerk was half the size of the store.

Ok so I need to ask a question without being spoiled. Is there a trophy for making 3 choices throughout the game? I've done all side missions and errands. I've done the main story up until the part where you go into the mountain. Next mission is meet the sun king in the city.No trophies are missable, so choices don't affect them
So have I played all the bits that involve this trophy?
60+ hours in, 90% complete. Can't get enough!
No trophies are missable, so choices don't affect themThank foooooooook. I was stressing I'd have to play through again to make choices differently.
Thank foooooooook. I was stressing I'd have to play through again to make choices differently.I watched all those trailers and it didn't really spoil the game for me at all. You never piece it together when you're watching the trailers so its fine
BTW since I'm nearly complete I decided to watch the launch trailer from a month before e3. I never watch more then the first 10 seconds back then. But seriously fooking hell. The trailer spoils half game. I'm telling you people are crazy to watch these trailers if they know they're getting the game.
It would have been a much lesser experience if I'd watched them all. And it actually spoiled a major plot point near the end but that's my next mission so I kind of seen it coming. But still one of the best parts of Horizon was the world was so mysterious. If I knew where the story was going I'd not have enjoyed it as much.
I watched all those trailers and it didn't really spoil the game for me at all. You never piece it together when you're watching the trailers so its fineYeah but you've seen some of the most important and coolest parts. I'd rather go in with a blank slate and let everything unfold with zero idea.
Yeah but you've seen some of the most important and coolest parts. I'd rather go in with a blank slate and let everything unfold with zero idea.True, there's a couple of machines I wish I hadn't seen before I played the game.
BTW I've done 18 errands and 21 side quests. Is that everything?
On the credits now. Them feels!!!!!!!!!!!Oh man the ending is so good isn't it!
AAAAAAAAHHHHGGGHHHHHHHHH
BEST

Take me back. I want to experience those 60+ hours again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was me as I completed Horizon. (http://www.fubiz.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Greatness-Awaits-PS4-5.jpg)
Oh man the ending is so good isn't it!Can't believe it took me a month to complete. Although I was away most weekends and had Wildlands to play aswell.
After having a long time to reflect I think this game is still my game of the gen. I can't believe it came out a month ago :o :o :o
