sure.  i think ms's broken promises lay in the failed launch and change in leadership.  it was the old leadership that made promises not the current leadership.  the new leadership is purposefully changing directions as a reflection that the old direction was rejected by the market.  in some ways the broken promises are a good thing.  okay yeah,.. xbox will no longer function as a dvr.  well, people were pretty upset about the TV TV TV SPORTS! direction of the original vision so maybe it is a good thing ms redirected resources away from TV! and into something else.
The new leadership has its own set of broken or at least not yet fulfilled promises, like the "We want to focus more on first party" or "We want to space out our games better" promises.

That being said Sony isn't above breaking their promises either, especially when they contain the words "We", "are", "going", "to", "release" and "in".
