Knowing everything that has and is happening would be a tough thing probably. Not too mention all the stuff he probably learned about his family he never knew.

Probably months since journeying back to the wall and winterfell. It's just the show is speeding fast and characters seem to pass great distances in days or less but it's usually much longer.
