Tekken 7 Fated Retribution Might Be A PlayStation 4 Exclusive Release

Quote
In a new Tekken 7 Fated Retribution showcasing event held during last weekend's Final Round, Bandai Namco's Michael Murray has talked about the game, its possible release date, game mechanics and more. While discussing the game, Mr. Murray sounds unsure about platforms, mentioning that they have had some behind the scene talks with Sony, with more to be announced at a later time. He was also not referring to the game's PlayStation VR exclusive content, which has been revealed a while back, so it's definitely something entirely new. Ultimately, it will be up to management if the game will also be released on Xbox One, as the team would love to have the game on Microsoft's console. You can hear more about the matter by going at around the 18:20 mark of the video below.

If true, then Sony is really trying to make the PS4 the 'fighter' console.

SFV and King of Fighters are the current exclusives right?

Guilty Gear too. Sony can only hope the FGC grows the same way Dota and LoL have grown, cause that can help them immensely.

SFV is console exclusive. KOFXIV is a PS4 exclusive.

Other exclusive fighters the PS4 has/will have are Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, Nitroplus Blasterz, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven.

I'm assuming Tekken 7 will be console exclusive.

It was announced for PS4 and Xbox One in October.

Looks like bad interpretation.

No. It was announced for "home systems" and PS4 was the only confirmed platform. Everyone assumed an Xbox One version at the time without even thinking that it may have actually been that Namco was considering a PC or NX version instead. The fact that they announced exclusive PS4 content does not indicate any other home versions. Exclusive PS4 content could simply mean that it's content that not even the arcade version has. Namco has had 5 months to announce other home versions of the game since the initial announcement of a PS4 version. What did they announce within that time instead? PSVR support alongside Ace Combat 7 being exclusive to PS4 and PSVR.

Take note of something. Both Tekken and Ace Combat seem to be following the same pattern. Both were originally arcade games. Both ended up exclusive to PlayStation for a long time. Both ended up getting 360 versions of their titles last generation. Both had their last normal console entry as multiplatform and then had a PlayStation exclusive free-to-play game afterwards. Now both are getting PSVR support. One has already been confirmed exclusive to PS4 and the other has yet to announce any other home platform but PS4.

Street Fighter 5 had 80k viewers as the tournament went on on Sunday.  Pretty high number.
