Seems like Sony announced 9 million consoles sold.

Asked about bridging the gap between the two console's sales figures (Sony report 9 million units sold, Harrison says Xbox One's figure is "north of five million")

UPDATE: Microsoft has clarified that Harrison was referring to the previous 5m shipped figure and was not citing new numbers.

9m sounds like a lot and if that is sold through then I'll be pleasantly surprised. I doubt it though.

The 9 million is a Edge claim saying Sony confirmed to them... MS confirmed Phill is talking abou March shipment numbers.

And just to be more accurate possible.

April 6th to July 1st if close to full 3 months... so I will use it.

2 million consoles sold in 3 months is close to 600-700k sold per month... a good decrease compared with previous 900k per month in Jan to March.

Even so it is perfectly possible... why do you ask?

Jan to Mar WW: 2,800k
Jan to Mar US: 910k = 32%

Apr to May US: 395k
Apr to May WW (Est.): 1,234k

So at end of May it was at ~8.23m... it will be close to 9 million right now (waiting NPD June for better math).

He won't admit the 11 days differences changes his point from close to 900k per month to ~650k million per month... 650k in April, May and June is perfectly possible with US at 200k
