"VizionEck Expo Day"/VEED will be a big media blowout for the game that'll happen eventually. I've been mentioning this for a while so I thought it'd be nice to talk about it and get some early feedback. Essentially VizionEck Expo Day's main trailer is how I'm keeping VizionEck development going strong. In past marketing I've shown work in progress, while VizionEck Expo Day is only to show finalized features. Thus if I want to show a really cool area in the game, I need to finish developing it first. I'm just a one man studio with no boss so VEED is really helping me stay laser focused on getting stuff done verse just toying around in the VizionEck universe.
VEED will also be a pretty cool day for marketing. At its core there will be the general trailer meant to sell the game in just a couple minutes, however I'd also like to have longer videos that go deeper into specific features and parts of the game. This is where you come in. As someone who's interested in the game, what would you like to see? A full unedited 15 minute video of a multiplayer match? A conversation with creators video about the in game language? A stop motion video about a cube finding his way back home? A video focusing on DLC and explaining how that all works? Etc. In addition I already have a few videos about unannounced features that I know I'll be making.
So really just tell me what about VizionEck you'd like to see more of. I'm going to be doing all I can to make it into a fun party for us on the forum so any stupid ideas about that are welcome as well.

Definitely a shorted trailer clip that tries to sell the game. If you could get a interview with one of the big gaming news sites or on PSBlog then i think that will do your game a world of good in terms of publicity. At the core of this though, the game needs to speak for itself!

yeah definitely agree with this. I showed a few friends the trailer and they were a bit confused...other than noticing its a FP/platformer than didn't figure much else out.
I'd also like to see a giraffe, with video commentary about how giraffes don't exist.

Yeah I've honestly had lots of issues with this. Most of VizionEck's mechanics are unique to the game, so I have to explain them from the ground up. Maybe a tutorial video would be nice?
Also I think it'd be fun to create a game cover, and maybe even the back of the case to go along with it. That would force me to try to sell/explain the game with just a single image.

Multiplayer wise I'll probably fully show a few levels, since the joy from that really only comes from playing it.
Campaign wise, I think I'll just show the first level there since it acts like a tutorial.
What about a developer walkthrough like some people do? Molyneux did one for Fable 2 when he was explaining the combat.

I've talked about them being robots before haha. They're remote controlled robots. That way when you die, you just assume control of a different one.

Sadly a 3rd party glitch put me on hold for almost the whole month. Wasn't even able to run the devbuild during that time.
So beyond just being really frustrating, that put me behind schedule! I had tons of time to work on marketing plans and the like, but practically zero time to work on implementing them.
Might still be a while.
