It's a cool console that fans don't have to defend liking. Gamecube was great for kids, Wii was great for casuals, and Wii U was great for die hards, but Switch is great for pretty much everyone who likes Nintendo. Pretty much the only crowd that wasn't catered to was the graphics crowd.Good point
Santa Monica Studio has indirectly revealed that around 9,1 million users have played God of War by sharing the (impressive) number of Platinum Trophies unlocked in a new infographic. The original link seems to be dead right now, but the infographic can be seen here. As it was quickly calculated in this thread by using the % of people who obtained the Platinum Trophy (this data is disclosed for every game), we can estimate God of War has seen around 9,134,074 players in 4 months.
As a reminder, God of War sold 5 million units in 1 month. There was no official sales update since from Sony, but it's safe to say it's probably close to 8 million (we have to subtract things like used copies or sharing). And if you want a comparison using players units, we know Gran Turismo Sport crossed 5 millions players in 9 months.
For the first half of 2018, God of War is the second best selling game of year in the US according to NPD. It was also on the top 3 in every major european countries during the same period, alongside FIFA 18 and Far Cry 5.

If its at 8m already then surely 11 to 12m could be doable by the years end. By the time it's 1 year anniversary hits the game could have sold 15m. Astonishing!It might be a fair bit lower still since this is players not buyers, but yeah it's doing crazy great.

Director of Mario and Rabbids shaved his beard apparently in May. He said he would do that when the game passed 2 Million. So there it is.Or if he's anything like me, he says he'll only shave his beard once he reaches a goal but the months keep on piling up and eventually a family holiday comes up and he just needs to shave...

Almost double gow. Biggest single sku since cod ww2 ps4. By far the best marvel seller ever. Some insane stats there. Will sales blow god of war week 1 out of the water or is the uk an exception??
