I missed the past 2 weeks so I watched them back to back and then the final episode.

Was good but also odd and weird. I definitely need more time to reflect on it before deciding how I feel. Some stuff felt kinda retconny but that might have been me just being confused.

Spoiler for Hidden:
I didn't like the big thing this season about scanning humans and putting them in robots. It went way too sci fi with that imo.

But it's always been that sci fi.

Robots and AI are something we currently have in crude forms. Westworld is just taking it to the next level.<br><br>I think my problem with the human to robot stuff is that it doesn&#39;t feel logical. Maybe in their lore it&#39;s explained, but as a viewer it seems &quot;made up.&quot; Surely you can&#39;t copy a person by just watching their actions and if you could, then it has nothing to do with westworld and could have been done at any theme park/store.<br><br>The unique thing about westworld is the robots yet this is only tangentially related to that.

You must have missed that the hats/ clothes they were wearing were constantly scanning the guests to take note of their brain activity at all times. So they can replicate them that way, its not just studying actions, its actual data.<br><br>I do agree though that I&#39;m annoyed that was the entire focus of the season. That should have been a side plot, and the real focus should have been on the morals and struggles of AI becoming conscious. It seems that was brushed aside and that&#39;s unfortunate. Hopefully that&#39;s the focus of future seasons.<br><br>My main disappointment is Dolores though, her transition into a pure killing machine just really didn&#39;t fit well. I loved her character in season 1 and thought it was awesome that she was learning and becoming conscious and I was rooting for her. In season 2 we just never knew exactly what she was doing. Even now, we don&#39;t really know. She just wants to kill all humans, maybe, but why does she need the information from the forge? Is she going to replace a few people and use it to help her get a position of power? I hope she does have some long term plan like this, otherwise I have no idea why they took her character in this direction.

I remember the hat thing but that felt kinda random and out of nowhere. What about people without hats and wouldn&#39;t that be a nightmare for keeping the project a secret? Hats could never leave westworld and all the people putting clothes in the park would need to either be in on it or be confused about why hats need to be processed by a secret team before they could go in the park.<br><br>AI robots were a lot easier for me to just roll with.<br><br>Future seasons will be interesting. Personally I&#39;d kinda like it if westworld was over and the next season was essentially a different show about the robots in the real world. AI robots were a lot easier for me to just roll with.

Then you must have forgotten the dressing part when introduced first time to William. They all select a hat to wear when they enter and they have to wear one. I suppose when they leave the hats are just handed back in a similar way and someone loyal to Delos overseas the processing of them, probably disguised as part of the cleaning process or something like that.<br><br>Yeah I don&#39;t really want to see the parks again, it wouldn&#39;t fit.

Nah I hope they go show more of the park again. &nbsp;They have 3 other parks we have never seen and based on the post credit scene we will eventually see an older version of the park after it&#39;s abandoned. I do agree next season should largely be about Dolores, bernard, and mystery host in hales host body in the real world. &nbsp;

Legend

Seems I missed the post credits scene.

Well michio kaku has talked about this very thing before, because
Spoiler for Hidden:
he thinks that recording a humans consciousness and storing it and then uploading it into another vessel will be the only way humans could leave the milky way. or something close to that line of thinking
But I know the average Legend isn't watching michio kaku on youtube to hear him talk about these things.  But it isn't as far fetched as it may seem.

I love the concept. There's a TV show on Netflix that deals with it a lot too.

Spoiler for Hidden:
Altered Carbon. In that Netflix show every person has a device in their brain stem that essentially records/is their consciousness. If someone dies they can just be transferred to a new body.<br><br>I like how Altered Carbon handled it and it&#39;s essentially the fundamental plot point in the show.<br><br>In Westworld however the plot was about AI robots becoming self aware. The brain scan plot feels lazily slapped on top instead of being integral. I think it would have been better imo if this was a side project/passion project by ford or something that was just used on a few people, instead of it being the primary reason the park has funding.

Dr. Pezus

Great finale. Really happy with this season although it feels like they could stop making it here. Feels complete

Legend

I think another issue this season had was that I didn't value the lives of random hosts. Often they tried to make you care for a host but I just saw them as code unless they were woke.

Yeah it could have done that much better. Some episodes it was pushing us to care for them and sympathise with them, others it was just like oh they're only code stop bothering. Its like there's only a few we're supposed to care about, but why those? Why should we be okay with Dolores killing loads of them?

This honestly looks really good. I'm hyped!  Sure sucks about Andrew Lincoln leaving, but seriously actors have other stuff they want to do, plus he wants to spend time with family.

It's funny seeing all the people on Era saying they are dropping the show once rick leaves.  It's a constant TWD haterfest on there anyway.

Isn't 9 seasons enough lol?
