Well the only way it wasn't past the peak would be if Sony go aggressive with price cuts this year. This estimate makes it seem like they aren't going to do that.

Yeah it's just a clear marker we're past the halfway point for this generation.

95 million prediction for next year makes it look like it'll end around 120 million like we've been predicting for a while. I wish I could find the post we layed out the year by year sales to compare our predictions with reality.

A quarter of a billion games sold. Will probably sell over 300m this year. Possibly more. Sony are on fire. PS plus subs up 8m in 12 months. That's about 400m extra in revenue there alone. They should surpass 40m subs by the next year. I think 50m ps plus subs is a doable goal by the end of the generation. That's a 2.5BN annual revenue stream. Crazy how much more profitable gaming can be these days.

81.8+158.7+217.9+246.9=705.3 million games sold.  

I believe this is missing the first three months of 2015.  As that isn't counted under FY2015.

So probably something like 715m games sold to date.
