Sony: PlayStation Neo, PS4 Slim will be last upgrades for PlayStation 4 cycle : Tech : Yibada

Quote from: Key Paragraph
Sony Executive Andrew House told investors in a Tokyo meeting that the PlayStation Neo and the PS4 Slim could be the last upgrades for the current console cycle as it would still last the usual six years, Metro has learned. He added that there would not be any change in their hardware release pattern which could also mean that the PlayStation 5 could happen soon.
So what do you guys think? I think it makes sense because the theoretical PS5 may use very different hardware from the PS4 or Neo like using HBM RAM in place of GDDR5.

I like it. I'm not ready for generations to end.

But a slim near the end of the generation is great.

I'm curious to see how much smaller the slim will be. I mean the current PS4 is still slimmer than the XBO S for crying out loud.

I still don't understand how that is. Their architecture is so similar.

I'm guessing about a 30% decrease in size.

Sony are?
You Brits. :P

Xevross

You Brits. :P
Well I say are because I was referring to the employees of Sony. Its not the company name which makes decisions ;)
