Real-Time Rendering, Fourth Edition and Game Engine Architecture, Third Edition are coming | ResetEra (https://www.resetera.com/threads/real-time-rendering-fourth-edition-and-game-engine-architecture-third-edition-are-coming.52460/)
Both are coming very soon. The previous editions have been great and were overall really helpful to me. For Real-Time Rendering it has been a almost a decade since the third edition so it will be interesting to see what the updates will be.

Looks like the raytracing demo.
This will make a fine addition to my collection.

It's a quote from Star Wars.
My only game book is Blood, Sweat, and Pixels.

I find your lack of star wars meme knowledge disturbing.
I find your lack of star wars meme knowledge disturbing.
At least you use memes correctly.
It's a quote from Star Wars.
Why are you using a meme without meaning it?
My only game book is Blood, Sweat, and Pixels.
It's a start!

I bet Game Engine Architecture will go into some Uncharted 4 tech.

Was Uncharted 4 using a new engine?
Was Uncharted 4 using a new engine?
Pretty sure it was just updates to what they have.
But the second edition added some The Last of Us details.
They apparently added some 200 pages...

I don't know what else.
Honestly I find reading books on this type of stuff is not helpful for me, personally. I have to get in there and just do it myself. I do love me some game art books though!

Well you focus a lot more on the art side of things so that'd make sense. I'd love to read these books so that I don't have to reinvent the wheel when programing.

I only have school books, roller coaster books, disney theme park books, and blood, sweat, and pixels.
A lot of higher end subjects are so hard to find good online resources for.
Even for Computer Science, a lot of the times I will only find one or two decent sources, that aren't all that great either.
It's sometimes much easier to find a solid book.
Sorry for the silly bump, but figured this was a good place to post this.
I saw this book being recommended:
Game Coding Complete, Fourth Edition: Mike McShaffry, David Graham: 9781133776574: Amazon.com: Books (https://www.amazon.com/Game-Coding-Complete-Fourth-McShaffry/dp/1133776574/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1534265943&sr=1-1&keywords=game+code+complete)
Seems pretty good.
I've been pretty curious about this book, but it isn't really done yet:
Foundations of Game Engine Development, Volume 1: Mathematics: Eric Lengyel: 9780985811747: Amazon.com: Books (https://www.amazon.com/Foundations-Game-Engine-Development-Mathematics/dp/0985811749/ref=pd_sim_14_5?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=0985811749&pd_rd_r=NHP72368J4P7202X6513&pd_rd_w=LliiL&pd_rd_wg=hmIyp&psc=1&refRID=NHP72368J4P7202X6513)
And this one seemed interesting:
Physically Based Rendering: From Theory to Implementation: Matt Pharr, Wenzel Jakob, Greg Humphreys: 9780128006450: Amazon.com: Books (https://www.amazon.com/Physically-Based-Rendering-Theory-Implementation/dp/0128006455/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1534266222&sr=1-1&keywords=physics+based+rendering)
Sorry for yet another bump, but this seemed like another one worth sharing.

A whole section on procedural puzzles. Interesting.

Oh, here.
Procedural Content Generation in Games | A textbook and an overview of current research (http://pcgbook.com/)
I've spent far too much time daydreaming about procedural generation. I wish I had the artistic/modeling skills to make a game like that haha.
