Is anyone else's Switch falling apart? | ResetEra

Cause mine is? I'm always really careful with my electronics. I've owned every single Nintendo handheld thus far with zero issues at all. But today as I was putting the switch in my pocket, a little chunk just fell out. Now there's a tiny hole in the top. Still works perfectly and no evidence of a fall. (I'm the only one who uses the thing and it's with me 99% of the time) I'm kind of worried my launch day Switch is already falling apart after less than a year.

Not sure if this will be widespread, but Nintendo's hardware is trash.  They're controllers are poorly made, with maybe the Wii stuff not falling apart.  The hinges on the DS are shame.  The hinges on the 3DS are shame.  I'm not surprised there's something wrong here.

Some of the older Nintendo consoles were super solid.

My super Nintendo still works.

Controllers have been hit or miss.
N64 controller, I've had some issues.

Well this sucks. Switch is such a great set of hardware but I can see why it might fall apart.

At least most of these issues are cosmetic and don't stop the switch from working. Sure they suck and no one would want them, but still better than complete hardware failure.

A photo would have been nice.

Most of the thread is just people getting distracted with the concept of putting switch in a pocket, but some users have shared photos.

I think you should go look at your yellow snes sometime :P
But yeah consoles have been alright, but then again the switch isn't a console.  Gameboys have been well built though.  Their DS line though...
