News VS Community: how do you like the board structure?

I'm personally feeling that something is off, but I'm not sure what it is.

If you sticky a thread in a category does it sticky on the recent / hot topics board automatically?
I'd say maybe just sticky latest news when it comes out in the appropriate categories if relevant... or have a special tag for it if you want to get rid of the thing
Otherwise I'd say its okay... just that the forum has an old school look to it
