Another third-party Switch game causes uproar - Polygon

So apparently even if you own the physical copy, it requires a download that takes more than 1/3 of Switch's base storage.

Carts was a bad ideia in some ways because it increases the price of the games or make publishers do shame tricks to use small and cheaper carts.

I understood the Nintendo situation because Switch is at first a portable and so it needs carts due not being mechanical reading issues in moviment and because you can't find wifi everywhere you go with a portable (phone internet is not cheaper to downloads 10s GBs)... the fact the storage is small makes the physical version a better option than digital.

But these carts created a issue for devs/publishers.

"The information is listed incorrectly on the packaging of LEGO City Undercover for Nintendo Switch. Players who purchase a physical copy of LEGO City Undercover on Nintendo Switch at retail are getting the complete game, and do not need to download additional content to enjoy the full experience. An internet connection is not required to play the game. The only internet connection suggested is to download the typical content update patch."

http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/03/...witch-download Sounds quite different from what people are discussing on these last few pages. Is this an older statement at this point? Or did it just happen? I dunno when IGN updated it

Is there a large price difference between 32 and 64 GB? The switch internal memory is near useless feeling.

Just like the WiiU, going digital you are pretty much screwed.

Its a double edged sword against the consumer.

Buy physical games which barely go down in price unless you are patient enough to find a good time and place to purchase said game.

Buy Digital games which are sold at lower price but risk from Nintendo's shoddy digital practices (which forces you to take extra steps like transferring data, etc) and stick with limited memory (forcing you to delete and redownload games).

2 generations and they still havent learned.
