PlayStation 3 will soon end production in Japan, according to the official Japanese PlayStation website. The page for the 500 gigabyte standard model, the only remaining PlayStation 3 model in production in Japan, mentions that "shipments are scheduled to end soon."

While a specific date is unknown a game shop in Kurume, Fukuoka seems to have suggested in a tweet that it received notification that production will end in March.
